I want to go to Paris for my Solar Return, as it seems like a good reason to go.

Seattle, Wa

I am represented by the sun, exalted in aries in the 9th. So the chart seems valid. Paris is represented by Jupiter in the 7th, which will eventually sextile the sun. So, it seems like a yes. right?

Another thing though, on astro.com when a planet has just moved into the next house, within a degree or two of the cusp, they say that the planet is interpreted in that previous house. In this chart, saturn is in the second house, within 1 degree of the cusp. Astro.com would say that Saturn should be interpreted in the 3rd. Or does Saturn really belong in the 2nd, indicating the financial difficulties of this trip?

I just wonder if I really should go... I'm trying not to get excited over the very simple yes, when my knowlege is so lacking.. I look forward to anyone offering opinions.

Courtney,

I'd say, 'oui', go for it.

You, Sun, already seem to be there, at least in your mind and heart, being placed strongly (as exalted) in the 9th;). With the Sun also ruling your 2nd and so well placed, I would say that your pocket should actually allow the trip as well. However, on the other hand, Sat's placement in the 2nd and Moon in the 8th could indicate that you might need some financial support from others? Also, Sun's next aspect, after perfecting its conj to Venus, should be a sextile to Jupiter (if I haven't already fallen asleep), the natural ruler of foreign travel and ruler of your 9th.

Bon voyage!

wow, thanks for the quick reply. I'd just been trying to find that 5 degree rule concerning saturn in the second, and it is Lilly's rule, so saturn is definitely in the 3rd house. I kinda would say I'm there, I've been learning french for a while, off and on, watching the movies, reading.. I still have a LONG time to go tho, birthday's not til december, but for some reason today I just thought to ask...

ty again :)

i think it is NO
sun loves jupiter ruler of 9th
but jupiter rejects sun
plus there is no aspect
moon does not aspect jupiter either
last aspect of the moon is opp with saturn - house of removal...
so No .. no trips
plus sun conj venus venus rules your 4th house .. i think you will change your mind and end up staying

I was told that any applying aspect would be valid, as long as it is applying. So the sun will eventually sextile jupiter. Is there an orb in horary?

I've just read that there's an 8 degree orb in horary.. .I first learned about Horary from the "the only way to learn astrology" series and I've had to unlearn so much... in that book they say any aspect works if it's applying...

yeah but sun meets venus before hitting off to jupiter

besides it is way too wide for an aspect AND jupiter is peregrine and rejects sun

May I ask when the trip is?

yeah, early December, my birthday's on the 13th, but SR is the 12th, and I'd planned to be there anywhere from dec 1st to the 10th. I mean, I'd planned to arrive anytime between those dates. My general plan is to rent an apartment for a couple of weeks, using nyhabitat.com. we'll see.
