JJ,
As the thread starter, do you want to add some astrological facts & figures to your post, or else the thread will have to be re-planted in the 'general chat' section, which is what it looks like right now.
:)AQ7
How does everyone dress? Or want to dress? You could tell us both.
Pictures are very welcome!
Of Course say something astrological to.

Hey I started a thread similar to this, will link at bottom. But basically I was thinking maybe the Asc show's how we dress normally, the 2nd house shows how we dress when we try really hard, as it is what we value. And the 12th house shows how we dress or our general aura when we are more relaxed and try less. And the 11th house shows how we are when we purposely dress or style ourselves to be against the grain (ie rebelliously.)
http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14103
So it works like a continuum:
11th house: Conscious effort to style/ dress alternatively, not stylish, to make a point
12th house: Style or dress when we let ourselves go a bit, subconscious
1st house: Normal expression of dress/ style
2nd house: Conscious effort to look stylish

hello Jenna Jupiter,
well my Libra sun and pisces asc likes eccentric dress for sure!
I currently have Uranus transiting over my asc so you can imagine what out of the ordinary things i do with my clothing..for my work i am conservatively dressed but i do add crazy colored scarfs and accessories to my business suits. i also do crazy things with my nails and hair..colors colors colors, but in a tasteful way. i don't like to be like the "norm", especially in expression and forms of it..
but to be fair every part of the day has a certain or special dress code for me anyway. Daytime=work gear, afternoon leisure time=casual with colors,
evening depending the event (formal dress, nice jeans crazy top etc)
all in all dress for me is important but must always be comfortable!
i also love most expensive shoes:D but then again what woman doesn't lol!
Cheers.
love,light, truth
Blessings

Well, my ascendant is in Leo, and I quite like to stand out, as such I Ideally try to dress in very vibrant colors, I have a certain obsession with plaid and complementary color schemes, and specifically, plaid patterns that use complementary colors.Part of the plaid thing might have been sparked by a time that I got into Feng Shui and read into something about feng shui of clothing and read that apparently squares and rectangles on my clothing would bring about prosperity and joy and all that because of the year in which I was born, so now I like plaid clothing alot.
I also like wearing my fancy, black wingtip shoes whenever it doesn't interfere with what I'm doing (IE: out jogging) My friends have cited this as being quite peculiar, I just find the shoes very comfortable.

And this is evening version:

If the dress is black, than I have many red details (Mars in first I guess - always comes out).
During the summer, I put orange, coral red and turqouise with lot of stones - hand made jewelry - I make it myself (Uranus sextile Sun).

Jenna, why Pluto?
My Sun is in Virgo, Asc in Sagittarius. I like it simple and, if not elegant, then sporty. No ruffles, flowers and other frilly girly stuff for me. I don't like abundance of details or jewelry. A little goes along way for me. This is my idea of elegance and beauty :) If I have a choice, I will prefer comfort over looks (to a limit, of course, as may be appropriate) and will not torture myself with stiff clothes or uncomfortable shoes, even if beautiful.
I choose calm natural tones - greens, browns from bone to chocolate, occasionally I wear dark red or wine (Sun conjunct Mars and Pluto?). I look good in black, but I don't wear it often.
When I was in my late teens, I was quite hmmm... creative with my clothes and loved to shock those around. Now I don't.

The type of clothes I tend to pick out - are definitely very "girly". I love romantic type clothes - lots of flowers and lace and sequins and glitter. (Pisces Saturn ruling ASC) I also love soft and flowing clothing, like "poet" shirts - even better if they have embroidery around the edges of the sleeves. I also tend to "prepare" (Saturn) my outfits ahead of time, instead of just "grabbing something". Sometimes I'll have the several days outfits already laid out in my mind. (If I know what I'll be doing those days.)
In addition, I love "hippie/flower child" type of clothes. Again, soft and flowing, and VERY comfortable. (Aquarius on 2nd cusp. Aquarius Moon in 1st. Uranus in Virgo co-rules 2nd)
Oh, and anything very unusual or one-of-a-kind, as long as it's still within my taste range.
As far as colors go... hmm.... I used to wear a lot of light pastels, but not so much anymore. If I wear pastel, it's usually light yellow. I guess I wear mostly earth tones - olive and forest green, chocolate brown. But I also wear alot of black and different shades of red. I've never grown out of my penchant for purple - and turquoise. (Venus in Cap?)
I tend to wear a lot of items of clothing in a single color. However, I do like flower prints ( everything from dainty romantic to "Hawaiian floweredy" prints), as well as a lot of detailed trim - embroidery, lace, beadwork, etc.
Shoes have to be comfortable. period. This is due to some arch problems I've developed. I literally get in so much pain I can hardly walk if I do not have comfortable shoes. I do love shoes, though , and love to collect them. It's just realy hard to find really comfortable shoes in alot of different styles. It's very limiting.:(
Jewelry - gemstones of any kind! I especially love handmade jewelry ( especially handmade gemstone jewelry ) I'm fond of "Southwest" style jewelry featuring alot of silver and turquoise.

I think what clothes we choose depends on the Sun (self-image), 1st house (how we fit into the world), 2nd house (values, possessions), and Venus (indication of what a person considers beautiful)
So, in my case, I do tend to dress like a Virgo - neat, practical, in natural colors. Sagittarius adds taste for sports style (which doesn't mean work out clothes), and, being a fire sign, makes my choices bolder. I also tend to choose expensive clothes, as the means permit. It just feels good to wear something of value, I guess :) My 2nd is in Aquarius - I like it casual and comfortable and don't watch the latest trends, I don't like to follow everybody else. My Venus is in Virgo, so back to #1.
I would be perfectly happy to wear nothing but jeans and tee shirts. I hate getting dressed up.
Even when I had to wear a jacket or suit, I wore a turtle-neck. I refuse to wear a tie—ever.
The problem is that I have NO idea where this comes from, astrologically, so if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. :)
(Clean neat clothes have always been very important though. Virgo AC, perhaps. Informal doesn't have to mean dirty or sloppy.)

Virgo Sun, Libra Moon, Cap Asc.
Late last year I decided I don't want to dress like everyone else, so now I wear more alternative fashions.
As of this year you can find me sporting a pair of checkered Vans, skinny jeans, a tight fitting sweater or band t-shirt, with very large glasses with black frames, or oversized sunglasses, and gotta have a scarf too. Sometimes I'll even wear a tie with a t-shirt, just because no one else would ever do that.
The Vans are definitley the best shoes I've ever had. And I'll never ever go back to wearing those loose-fitting jeans again. Skinny jeans are so much more comfortable, and it's a total myth that there isn't enough room for my..um...junk.
And though I guess it doesn't really count as clothing, I sometimes wear too much cologne because I like smelling good.

I have a libra rising- i like to always be put together and i love to shop! i have a lot of clothes. but i am a little conservative, not too out there in my fashion.
Would Venus aspects to the ascendant give someone an interest in clothing?
Would Venus aspects to the ascendant give someone an interest in clothing?
Yeah. I think it would depend on what sign venus was in. For example, Venus in virgo is not typically too fashion-driven.
