Are we allow to reccomend other forums? I thought that might be against the rules?
Anyway, I wanted to say, and if it is agains the rules then I don't mind if it is deleted, I used to chat on a forum called Horoscopeschat, which was lovely. It used to have all sorts of interpretations until there was a copyright mix up. And alot of the astrology weekly interpretations are sourced from there. The old forum will be closing down soon, but there is a new one being set up.
There is also a Bob Marks forum, but I don't know what it is like

Thanks Sundance Kid I will check them out. I have been to the Bob marks forum but it used to get real quiet. Some forums take a week before you get a reply lol. I will definitely look into the Horoscopeschat. :) I think it's ok to recommend astrology forums, there not in competition, I was just looking for opinions on different boards.
Thanks again Ray.
Edit; I also posted on Nodeorama, but it's been 5 hours since anybody has posted. Seems slow compared to here, astrodienst, or even lindaland. There was a good thread on risings signs on there, I need to finish reading lol.

Hi,
You can also go to 'Yahoo groups', where you type in the sort of group you are looking for and will be presented with about 200 sites (or more) worldwide that are part of the Yahoo network! Maybe Google does the same. Most have a 'registered' rather than free membership and, unlike other sites mentioned here, you cannot even read the messages without first joining the group, through which you become inundated with Scam post unless you have necessary internet protection.
Or, why not just ask your browser to search 'Astrology Forum' and get about 6,000,000 hits? :34:
Wherever you go, you will usually 'bump' into someone or other you have met before; very many astrological itinerant wanderers out there in search of self knowledge searching out those who they believe know.;) Other than those whose members specialise (e.g. asteroids, traditional, mundane etc.) I have yet to find any general site which provides the 'Aha enlightenment' for which I am continually searching.:D :p
As a personal comment, you have acquired and 'grown with' knowledge in the years you have been part of the A.W. community. You may feel that, like many other sites, 'it all comes down to the same questions', which you believe to have outgrown and are now looking to expand upon what you already 'think' to know and this (or any other) forum no longer fulfils that desire (A touch of transit Jupiter in Aquarius affecting your chart?) I felt the same way myself once, upon a now almost obselete forum that was the best of its kind on 'Usenet', until a fellow astrologer privately remarked, 'But that's what life consists of and IS for most people.' It stopped me in my tracks. I like to learn about life, what makes people tick. I came to realise that I needed such people on those forums, with their everday difficulties, to expand upon what I thought to know about the workings of astro. symbolism.....only to find that they can teach me a **** lot more than I can tell them; especially those from the younger generations whose charts have and/or are undergoing aspects about which zero has yet been written because it's not been experienced 'in modern times'.
I guess it depends upon which side of the fence one prefers; whether one likes to theorise about astrology and its implications or to actually live it.:)

Hi Frisiangal

I remember seeing something like this but you do have to register before you can read the posts, and it might not be the group I am interested in. I did search for astrology forums but it it time consuming going through all the searches. All the relevant ones are not immediately listed.

I did see some familiar names when I registered on an astrology forum yesterday. How friends will travel lol. Maybe I am a restless traveller in groups (Jupiter in Leo) although I have been a loyal Leo. Fixed in terms of enthusiasm, but alas I am feeling my natal Jupiter-Chiron square. Feeling deflated.

Yes the same questions after so many years on a forum can begin to get monotonous, but it really comes down to my own attitude. You forget when you were a newbie and even the simplest question is exciting and you may find something interesting about yourself, your partner child. I just find my hearts not in it as it once was. In the beginning you couldn't find a more enthusiastic willing to learn individual, I would post all day long, and found everything fascinating. Like a kid in a candy store, but soon the novelty wears off and I feel I don't have the same motivated purpose. Lately with the transiting Saturn-Uranus opposition on my moon/mercury I have been thinking what's limiting me and which direction do I need to move in, where do I feel restricted in growth. In the beginning I had something to work towards, now I feel there is no goal. This probably makes no sense at all. I feel my role here has passed it's sell by date. I am not involved wholeheartedly like I once was. Maybe it's me who has closed off to people and I am the one not letting the new experiences in, because I have become more rigid in my thought patterns than I once was. Maybe a change in scenery/forum would be OK for a while but as they say the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I was looking for new perspectives, new ways of seeing astrology, that could offer me new knowledge. Maybe I need an attitude change and fresh perspective. Which you have helped with.
I guess it depends upon which side of the fence one prefers; whether one likes to theorise about astrology and its implications or to actually live it.

I feel the same way Shining Ray,
I forgot about astrology for over 2 years before I started posting on this forum again. Sometimes you just feel weary of the same topics over and over again, the cycle of learners coming and going, and feel that your time is past, that you've gained everything you can from a forum. That's how I felt.
Forum jumping might help, but I think it would be better to simply take a break from astrology altogether, and try new subjects. New arts and skills. There's a whole world out there! :) And then maybe in the future, you can draw on your experiences from outside the astrology world to gain a fresh perspective on things. Its so much harder to understand a transit when you're aware it is happening I think, as you create what you want to see (which can be good, but you don't feel like you're learning anything new in terms of astrology.) So I like looking at transits for things that happened when I forgot about astrology, as they seem more curious, more intriguing.
And then by re-starting astrology I found fresh insights, a new enthuasiasm, and new ideas. What I had previously thought was a rigid thought pattern was changed. Now I have a new thought pattern, which is becoming rigid, but I will probably take another break soon, think about other areas of my life, and later on I will return to this subject.
But aside from all of that, I think you have wonderful ideas about astrology, and would love to get to know you better, so if you do decide to carry on sharing and learning here I for one would be very willing to listen :)

Thanks Sundance,
Every tells me to take a break, and maybe it is time I do. I seem to clash with the forum lately. We used to get along famously well lol. I did take a break for a few weeks, when I had no Internet. In one way I need communities to share ideas and communicate on astrology because this is the only place available. There are other forums and many people have told me to bog off to them :D . I guess it's out of habit I come here now. I don't dislike the place or I wouldn't come, it's lost the magic it once had. We used to have squabbles all the time on here, but it was still an interesting place to be.
Maybe I should relax from the forums for a while, read alone, and keep to myself. I think people can naturally outgrow places. One time I felt part of this community, right in the middle of it. But now I feel I am just on the outskirts and just contribute now and again. I might go away for while, refresh my mind. There is one issue on the forum I need cleared up. After my last few posts have been answered, it will be time for a break.
Listening to the messag loud and clear.
Take a break Ray. :p
