In Astrology we say that on this time planets were on such points, can we check it with science ?
i mean with astronomy? have someone checked it before

I'm not sure I understand your question. You can sort of find planets in the sky using astrological positions, but not really anymore, since the constellations don't match up with the signs. That and people usually forget about declination or right ascension, which is what you'd use now instead of constellations

You understood my question very well,
if that is true then why cant we we amend the signs to constellations.
that would be bring more accurate results.
i think for that is sideral astrology, but people dont use it that much why ?

Yes, you're right, that is the sidereal zodiac, but even that isn't quite right. Astrology is based off of the idea that all the signs are 30°, they're all equal. However, in reality, the constellations are quite different sizes. Virgo is 46°, for example, and Scorpio is only 7°. So, even though the sidereal zodiac begins at the beginning of the real constellation of Aries, once it leaves that, it's pretty much off again.

The apparent positions of the planets are determined with extreme accuracy by means of mathematics. This lends itself very well to computerization. The common personal computer can calculate and draw a chart in only a few seconds. If you like, a chart can be made for the current moment and then you can go outside with the appropriate instrument and see if the planets are not exactly where predicted.
These computerized charts can be calculated for thousands of years in the past. Since hand made charts have come down to us from the ancient past, it is possible to compare them with those done by calculation in the present.
The sidereal zodiac is used with Vedic astrology. I have studied both the Vedic and Western systems. To obtain accurate results with sidereal, I find that the Vedic rules must be observed. Sidereal used with western astrology does not produce reliable results in my experience.

The planet's are calculated using maths that is mathematically correct. So astrologer's know exactly where a planet is.
But astrologers and astronomers use different terminology- 'Aries' means something very different to both.
So the maths is very accurate, it is the terminology that confuses. And astrological terminology is less useful for looking at the sky to find a star or planet, but it is in term of maths, as far as i am aware, completely correct.
EDIT: What Culpeper said :)

thanks, but one question remain unanswered and that is : why we use tropical astrology, when actually stars and planets are actually not there as tropical says, so how can it get proper results. and to me i consider myself that i am a virgo under tropical, and it suits me also but under sideral i am a leo, i dont feel like a leo. so me totally confused

dracula,

For me, astrology is a "symbol system" and the Tropical zodiac is simply the method of how the "symbols" are created. It doesn't matter to me where the planet Saturn is in the sky, but only matter where the "symbol Saturn" is in my chart. And, like you, I find the Tropical zodiac "symbolizes" things best for me.
Symolistically,
Tim

One thing is that stars and planets aren't where sidereal zodiacs place them either, because they still go by "every sign gets 30°" when that's not the reality.
Tim also answers pretty well about the symbolic associations. The tropical zodiac is more in tune with the earth, the signs changing with the seasons and all of that.

Agreed i too agree that tropical zodiac is more intune
but cant understand why ?
i mean planet saturn exerts force on me, not the symbol saturn

Dracula,

For me, astrology is about going "beyond the why". I started out by interpreting charts and asking myself "Do these interpretations "work" and help explain these people?" The answer was, "Yes." I COULD have started asking myself then "But WHY does this astrological interpretation work?" To my mind, this sort of thinking simply wastes time. Instead, I asked myself, "HOW can I learn to use this knowledge so well that I can help others with it?" And the "Why" question went "right out the window". There are people who spend whole books on trying to explain astrology...but reading these books won't make you a better astrologer. If you want to be a better astrologer, put away the "why" of astrology and instead focus on accepting that astrology works and work on developing your astrological interpretation abilities.
Un-whying,
Tim

the planet saturn does not exert force on you, and neither does the symbol. the symbol saturn in your chart however is an indicator of that energy in your life and how it manifests.
to reiterate what tim said, astrology is a system of symbols.

I think it should also be stated that it is a classical belief that astrology is cause-effect and the idea of "synchronity" is a fairly new one. I believe it was Jung who coined the term, so this idea must have been formed around his time. Just wanted to post and point out that the idea of synchronity is not the only thought process, as the cause-effect idea is much older.
There are a few problems with both ideas, mind you. The idea of synchronity works well...until you try to use electional astrology, then I'm not sure how the two are rectified. As far as cause-effect, it serves to dishearten people and their feelings of free will.
