View Full Version : Recognizing the Horary "Moment"

Hi all,
I havent been here for awhile, but I thought I would ask a question.
How does one recognize the correct moment for pinpointing the time of asking a horary question? One author has said that the time is when he thinks of the question. But what if you think of it and dont have access to a watch or clock? It makes me nervous. I think of plenty of questions all the time, but I may not be actually posing the question. Does this make sense?
any references to well known horary authorites would help. Thanks for any replies ahead of time!

Pluto,

When you are compelled in your mind to ask a question, is the right time.

There have been plenty of times that I was not able to make a chart for the question when I asked it mentally, I simply did it when I thought of the question again later -- there's nothing to be nervous about. Just cast a chart when you can -- as long as it's something important, the chart should be 'radical'.

Ray.

Hi RayAustin,
Thank you for the reply. I'll try what you've mentioned.

This happens to me too. I might ask myself a question over and over again, without even realizing it, so after it's difficult to determine the exact moment I first asked myself the question.
Ray, forgive my ignorance, but what does radical mean in horary?

Radical means that the chart is fit to be judged. For example, the ascendant is not too early, or too late (if it's too early then events are still developing, if it's too late there is nothing you can do to change the outcome). The Moon is not void of course (nothing will come out of the question). Saturn is not in the 7th (the Astrologer's interpretation is compromised), etc.

I always have trouble with the horary moment too. I always run to write the time down whenever I think of a question. So far, so good.

What is not good practice, is making the chart.. and then asking the same question again, and making another chart.

A chart 'radical' means it is fit to be read and interpreted. There are also certain traditional strictures proposed by the authorities whether not a chart is fit to be judged, however most of these strictures seem mostly academic; every chart can be read. If you are new to horary, you'll find that a lot of things are contradictory.

I just follow my instinct. Whan it occures or whan I have the feeling I should ask. And the horary is exact (I deffinitely sound Virgo lately).
