What are the underlying reasons for my case of extremely dry mouth?

This started occuring March 22, 2006. There is an epidemic of mumps in Iowa right now but I had that as a child. I do have allergies and that congestion at night can cause me to be a mouth breather, which also influences dry mouth. I have also had thyroid problems in the past that might be part of the issue.

I would like to look at the spiritual issues as well as the practical medical issues.

Thanks so much!

I'm not good in medical and health related horaries. I'll provide some info, but you need to wait for someone else to answer your question.

The ASC is in Sag just like your natal ASC. This is pretty radical chart. The significator of your physical health is, thus, is Jupiter Rx at Scoprio 17:05 in the 11th house. Jupiter has essential dibility by being in Rx motion but has minor esential dignity by being in its own term. Other than that, Jupiter is received by Mars by Sign, triplicity and face. Jupiter is in the detriment of Venus. Jupiter is not afflicted by any planets.

The first house is afflicted by Pluto Rx, a modern malefic.

Venus signfies your disease as the ruler of the 6th house. Venus in At Pisces 2:15 between the 2nd and 3rd houses. Jupiter has essential dignity by being in its own exaltation and own term. It is received by Jupiter Rx by sign, Mars by triplicity and Saturn by face. It is dancing between accidental dignity and debility by being between the 2nd and 3rd houses. In my own opinion it is accidentally debilitated in the house that co-rules communications (mouth).

Your 9th and 12th houses and their cusps are free from affliction.

I believe that the cause of your dry mouth is physical. There are no indications of spiritual problems causing or relating to your condition. Whatever it s, it is not likely to be too serious or to last long. In traditional medical astrology, Venus rules the following:

The throat, suffocation, sudden and brief illness, kidney diseases, vineral diseases, menstrual or uterine problems, carbohydrates metablosim and dislocation.

Isn't Radu a medical doctor? I believe he could help point out if any of these conditions may be accompanied by a dry mouth as a symtom.

Anyhow, my only source on this is the Martial Art of Horary Astrology and I haven't practiced medical horaries much. I hope this information helps, but I think you still need a second opinion ;)

I have been battling a case of dry mouth, causes unknown, since March 22. It hits especially hard at night when my mouth/throat becomes worse than the Death Valley, causing me to wake up several times during the night to moisturize my oral cavity. This for a person who really needs her eight hours of sleep... grrr

A suggestion, a strong possibility........men o pause. "The Change" on top of the "Cosmic Change" !

At age 47 'it' all started for me, both of these things. I get the dry mouth and throat thing occasionally still. But my severe dry misery is in my eyes. What your throat and mouth is doing, my eyes do while I'm asleep. It's a pain in more ways than the obvious! Oh, and since age 47 when this started, I was lucky if I slept for 2 hours without waking up. When the hot flashes start in full force, there will be lots of constant repeated broken sleep. I'm still in this after 8 years. Rest as much as you can.

(I moved this from your other thread where you mentioned this.)

Thanks sore! What you said makes sense. I guess I just needed confirmation that the severity of the dry mouth wasn't going to be a chronic condition.

I know dry mouth can be a symptom of many things, including a throat chakra out of wack (which mine perpetually is). I think I need to make more space in my life, literally and metaphorically, and perhaps that is what is the underlying spiritual cause for me.

Thanks Lapis for your input about dry mouth being a symptom of menopause. Since blood is the Earth element impacting the Water element (as saliva is the Ether element impacting the Water element), the changes in the monthly flow of blood outward could confuse the body's natural responses of fluid production.
