Solar Return Focus on the 9th House

Hello all, I run my solar return for 2010, and I have Sun in Aries in the 9 house (falls inside my natal 8 house where my natal sun is too), and Moon, Mercury and Venus in the 9 house in Taurus, while in my natal chart my Moon is in the 9 in Taurus too, my Venus conjuncts Mars in Gemini in the 9 too, and my Mercury is in Aries in the 7 house. Also, natal moon is on the 10 house cusp on the solar return chart, and SR Jupiter is on the 8 house cusp. SR Neptune is on the 7 house cusp. North Node retrograde in the 5 house in Capricorn and SR ascendant is Leo.

I am an international student in the USA, so I am not a citizen or permanent resident, and I will be finishing my Master's soon, and I will be looking for a job (the government allows international students to work legitimatley after the completion of their studies for a year in the U.S.). I really do not want to relocate and go back to my country, as I have built my life now here.

Does this concentration of planets in the 9 house for the 2010 solar return show that I will have to move back to Europe? I have applied for lottery visa ,and I always wanted to do a PhD. Is there a possibility of marriage? Leaving the USA is my greatest fear. I love this country! I do not want to relocate and now with this chart I am very worried that I will!

Go to www.Astro.com and make a chart and post it on here as many of us are more visual then. Let it be noted that the SR Sun must always return to it's original position in the Zodiac. So that's nothing to worry about.

OK, I will. Thanks for your reply. The sun is in the 9 house in this SR, but in my natal chart is in the 8 house, and that's why I am worried because the 9 is all about transatlantic travels.

I can see your concern. What natal house is rising in the solar chart? that is the starting point to interpretation.

Hi Cassandra, I have attached my natal chart, my SR for 2009 because Neptune in is the 9 house this time which may indicate long-distance travels over water so it may be a sign for what may come in 2010, and my SR chart for 2010 about which I am really scared.

But since I am not American, and being in the USA IS being in a foreign land, is there a possibility that this may mean that I will stay permanently in the USA, and I won't have to move back to Europe? That's my great dilemma. Is there a possibility to continue graduate school since I always wanted to do a PhD?

OK, I figured it out, so I finally attached all charts. I would really appreciate any insight because if I know in advance that fate wants me to move again, I will stop some big purchases (a car) that I was thinking of making here in the States, and I will plan my finances for a transatlantic move which requires a lot of money and resources.

Is there a possibility for a PhD or to work inside a think-tank? I have built my life now here and I have a sense of purpose (international politics), but if I go back, I do not know what the heck to do or where to start to put my life in order again and I am getting older. I am in the States for 8 years now...

It looks like your Solar chart has natal 9th house but it looks like it is so close to the 10th I might suggest you would also want to look at the 10/4th houses. For the 2009/2010 year it looks like the sun is in the 11th house of hopes and wishes, friends.
Natal mars and Venus is conjunct the ASC so it appears there is conflict in the year. With venus so close too that energy blends with the year too. Solar Jupiter at the cusp of the MC with the par fortune is beneficial. If we focus on the 10th and 5th houses this seems to be a positive indicator for your career.
Natal moon in the 12th indicates emotions connected to 12th house issues or things happening behind the scenes..ie hospitalization, confinement, secret affairs, or simply repressed unconscious emotions.
Solar Moon conjunct pluto in the 7th indicative of transformation of relationships possibly in a rather intense way. It does appear there is positive changes coming for your career but your personal life will undergo some intense changes.
Steps:
Look at natal sign rising
go to house that the rising sign indicates
look at planets in the house and what they aspect
look for the ruler of the houses and what they aspect
look for the planets natal and solar conjunct the angles mostly MC and AC. Look for what is most prominent (in your case mars and venus)
Look at the placement of the sun and natal and solar moon.
Look for exact or close aspects of natal planets to solar
Look for repeat patterns ie in your case venus and mars are joined natally and we see that they are again joined in solar with Uranus again thus this natal potential is ripe to be fulfilled.
Then go to your progressed and solar arc charts to see the focus there. Then look at your transits for the year.
As far as the following year....everything does point to the 9th house including moon in the ninth which is indicate of movement. My office moved with moon in the 9th. It looks like the 12th house is rising in the second chart which rules confinement, subconscious, secrets, hospitalization. Look for the rulers of 12th and 6th houses in the solar to help tell the story. The sun and uranus will be key in understanding this chart. The north node on the 6th cusp may be helpful as it increases the energy to that house cusp...health reasons or co-worker?
I always look for uranus placement as it always rings true for me. Uranus in the 8th tells us something unexpected happening in others resources, death, rebirth, transformation.
Look to the aspects of the sun in this chart as it may tell the tale . It may be you want to travel due to some illness or are unable to travel. Venus in the 9th might tell us a loved one issues are critical and as it is at the top of the chart it makes it prominent. Conjunct the natal moon increases the emotional component. Again go to your progressed and solar arc charts then transits. Your birth day will give a mini story of the year.

After reading carefully your analysis, I need to ask you this and please be totally honest with me: Do you think there will be a death in my family (possibly mother because of the moon and IC involved) and do you feel that I will move back after all? I mean if I were your client, what would be your advice? Should I save my money for an impeding move or should I go ahead and buy the car? Do you think this will be a transatlantic move (moon in the 9) or it may also be like moving apartments?

If you were me, would you be worried and what would you start preparing for? A warning? Something that I should be careful about?

Since I am a student of astrology and I am still learning, I need also to ask you the following: You say that I should look for the rulers of the 12 and 6 houses in the natal chart to tell the story.

Please correct me if what I will attempt to interprete is wrong so as for me to learn: the 12 house in my natal is ruled by Sun because of my virgo ascendant? And the 6 by Neptune because most of the 6 house house falls in Pisces? Does that mean that my father (12 house=Sun in my chart because of Leo) will become sick and maybe die and I will have to move back? I really do not understand that part of your analysis...

Your 2011 does point to 9th house issues and with some focus on loved ones indicated it could be legal or so many things. To find out if it is significant open your progressed chart for 2011 probably the the last third of the year as the sun is in a cadent house. If there is something major coming down you might see either the 6/12 axis or 9th house axis or those planets that rule those houses being activated by progression.
I could not see aspects very well. I just gave the charts a cursory look. If you just look at the solar chart now the aspects that the active planets well tell more of the story. I wish I were better at prediction but you need to learn how the language of the stars speaks to you. I would take this year and watch the suns transits through the solar chart. As it connects to each of the aspects and the angles you will begin to see how it speaks...The suns aspects to the angles seem to bring the most 'events' but sometimes as it passes a charged or active degree things will happen.
Regardless of whether you are going home or not saturn and uranus are siting on your solar 2/8 axis indicating sudden disruption in others resources or losses and saturn in your 2nd indication of responsibility and or finanical obligation thus I would start saving. It looks like the beneficial and protective jupiter is sitting on the 8th house cusp so you may have a benefactor or maybe just some luck in that area. Again the asepcts to these planets well be telling you whether this is more challenged or harmonious.
On your second question:solar charts are only one predictive tool. To see any thing of significance it would show up in more than one tool of prediction such as progressed charts, solar arc and finally your transits. So I meant go to your progressed chart and see if the 6/12 axis is active. 6/12 axis is an odd one. Uranus has been transiting my 12th house and I have been freaked out particularly as it squares my sun in gemini and opposes my moon in the 6th. My mom did have a stroke this year and I am worried but I would say so far it has been a year of change internally, an inner reckoning. In addition, I have been self-confined due to my mates struggles with his parents illness and also found work working with a hospital 'unexpectedly' I might add so 6/12 is not always 'illness' death' but it can be.
The sun is usually your ego, your focus and your health not necessarily your fathers.
Since the houses and planets can have multiple meanings you can only find out the strength of something if a theme is repeated at least 3 times in a chart and in other predictive tools. That is the rule of thumb. I know it is alarming and confusing. Read everything you can on this site on solar returns and progressions as well as solar arcs.

OK Cassandra, I will try to do some extra studying in my spare time since predictive astrology fascinates me! I have been using the tarot and regular cards to predict (it has been totally natural to me) since I was 5-6 years old, but I find astrology more intriguing maybe because I like the "scientific"/analytical aspect of it. You have to study in order to "read" astrology. and this is fascinating to me.

From first glance I would say stay where you are at, Jupiter looks good for your career in this solar return cycle.

In my experience, 9th house in the solar return can mean travel far from your place of birth, pursuit of higher education or spirituality, and in some case divorce.

You have a very similar chart to mine, I am 26 Aries Sun with 5 Virgo rising! Cheers!

Yes, this is the point: that I would like to stay in the USA finally, where I am right now, but because I am not a permanet citizen and I do not have a green card (I am with student visa currently), I may have to move back to Europe after November, which I really do not want to do because I love my life here and I love the USA and this area where I am at is perfect for professional opportunities in my field.

Did you see the solar return for 2009, or 2010 and you said that about Jupiter? Do you see that on both solar returns?

I am glad we are sharing almost the same chart; please tell me: were fall 2007 and all 2008 one of the worst periods of your life, especially at a psychological level? Did you clear a lot of relationships and went through painful times? I am just wondering if it was only me....
