hi all,
I was looking recently at several charts and I have seen that people who had lost their mother prematurily had hard aspects between moon and mars, especially exact conjunctions or squares.
anybody has further info on that?
sorry about the sad subject...

Hi Pluto74, That is interesting, I haven't read anything about that. I do know that the 4rth rules the mother, not sure what other house you would look @ for the death. Maybe, aspects to the 8th h?

Would all of the person's siblings also have to have these mars/moon aspects?

I'm wondering because in my case (my family) my sister has Mars opposing her Moon, while I have it trine, and my other sister's moon is unaspected. None of us have the conjunction or square aspects that you mentioned, though. And our mother has not passed prematurely.

Hi Pluto74. That is a really interesting observation you made. I decided to test it out by looking at the natal charts of OJ Simpson's two young kids. As we all know, they lost their mother at a young age to a violent death. The girl has a Mars in 4th square Moon in 6th-your theory holds true.
But, they boy's chart is a little bit different in that there are no hard aspects to the Moon from Mars-he has Mars in 12th square Venus in 2nd. Perhaps in his chart Venus represents his mother?

Does anyone have any further interpretation of these aspects & house placements

I personally see astrology as tendencies and not as things that will happen for sure...
one girl that I know has a square but she has not bros or sisters to check...
two other people I know, the boy has a conjunction and his sister has moon mars unaspected...
Prince William has a moon/mars square but his bros Harry has moon opposition saturn....
see, does not mean brothers must have the same aspects for things to happen.

I guess the question to ask is what age is prematurily?

I have had a look at some of my families charts. None of us had no mothers that have passed early, before 50/60ish.

There were hardly any hard aspects between us, in about 10 or more people.

I came across one Moon opp Mars, this is my aunty, my grandmother didnt pass until she was in her 60's.

I came across two Moon squ Mars, this was my stepfather, his mother didnt pass until she was late 50's (i think) and my cousin whoes mother is still alive and is in her late 50's.

My mother (50) is still alive and none of her children (4 of us) have any hard aspects involving the Moon and Mars.

There must have been a combination of transits to set off the aspects for the premature deaths.

Although I just noticed that family members with Moon squ Mars I would say had a difficult (if that is the word to use) upbringing with their mother. :) . Just my two cents worth.

maybe I was not clear, but the issue is not the age of the mother but the age of the children...
premature age for a mother's death is when a child is less or max in his 20ies.

yes, from a modernist point of view that is the case, but from a Traditional point of view the Mother is ruled in fact by the tenth cusp and the Father by the ruler of cusp 4.
If you are looking to death of the mother, then maybe H8 cusp-ruler describes that-but the eighth is also about other (financial) matters.
i have a chart of a man with moon square mars and the moon is in H8 but his mother is elderly and very much alive-in fact he is especially close to his mother.
My niece has moon square mars and HER mother is very close to her and still alive.
I think receptions would definitely need to be taken into account here.
Generally, were I looking at a chart to see what the story was between a person and their mother, I'd be looking closely at the synastry between the rulers of houses 10 and one. Also any aspect of the moon to those rulers.
But as I flick through my charts of those *with* and *without* mothers I do see moon /mars squares in both.
Cheers

I've had this topic come up before with an astrologer friend-he says that his approach is to consider that whichever parent is the most dominant, or who has the most influence over the person, will be represented by the 10th. In my case, that holds true. My 10th represents my mother.

The boy's Mars sq. Chiron in Cancer would be similar to Mars sq. moon..i think.
