Ok .. From what I have read .. it just doesn't sound pleasant  .. I have no idea what the should and should nots are .. I plan on mostly keeping to myself.I also read this is a once in a lifetime event? Was that wrong or misinformation of some sort?I'm not very familiar with transits in relation to my natal chart. To go about anyalyzing it .. would I look to my progressed sun or birth sun? And deduce which area of life this transit will focus on via house & and in which way via sign? I'd post a chart but im not sure which charts are relevant to post for this kind of question ..any help would greatly be appreciated :)

yea its gonna only happen once in your lifetime. you might experience the pluto opposition to you sun, but you would have to live to be reallly old.
so you natal sun (libra or aries?) is fixed in one sign at one degree. (ex. your sun could be at 21 degrees of libra). transiting pluto, or the current pluto that is slowly moving in our sky righ now, is making a square to the natal position of your sun.
you most likely have pluto in scorpio (based on your age) so in the time that you have been alive (transit) pluto has only moved from scorpio and its position in your chart, through sagittarius, and now into capricorn. very slow.
what this means for you.
i bet one of the moderators is gonna come on and tell youto try and interpret your own question blah blah. so research pluto and what it represents, and the sun and what it represents and a square and what it represents, and blend that info together.
once youve done that then keep reading.
Pluto represents the cycle of death, destruction, and rebirth or renovation.
this transit can bring people or events into your life that will transform you, for good or ill.
the square is a test of your strength and the energy with which you have established yourself in the world. It requires that your sense of personhood or sense of self are in reasonably good shape. You should know who and what you are. If not, then this transit brings about crisis to force you to realize these things about yourself.
This transit has a lot to do with:
self control
power
power-trips
being overpowered
overpowering others
desire for power
ruthlessness
trying to destroy opposition
To overcome these forces:
know yourself and who you are and know precisely what you need to succeed and go after just that. Be willing to compromise and make your success the success of others.
also
your body might physically go through a "death and rebirth" scenario. if it happens don't worry, and then take the steps to take care and nurture your body back to health. begin a conscientious program of physical exercise and therapy.
therapy during any pluto/scorpio transits is certainly beneficial. reach down into the depths of your psyche and figure out who you really are.

I have read that Plutos transits are felt for some time, more so than others, and up to 5 degrees from exact. Look for the trigger planets, mars or sun, to form a hard angle or conjunction to the aspect.
You would have been feeling this for some time. Look to suns location and house it rules as well as the house that Pluto transits. This should tell the tale and it is probably something you already sense.

Nicholas ,I wasn't asking for an interpretation , in self defense lol I was just curious as to how I'd go about it.Part of the reason I'm interested into to delving further is because all of those keywords and concepts you mentioned I not quite a fan of.II have too much of a conscious in me to be ruthless lol ..i'd feel guilty so I avoid feeling guitly ^^Also I try to live by the golden rule as much as a flawed person can ..I'm libra sun .. aries ring ..I would like to figure out how this is likely or where it is likely to manifest itself because I feel I am on more solid and stable ground than I ever have been.Astrologically I feel I am on the right path...
The physical stuff I can attest to but its not something im not prepared for or even used to.I can handle that I think :)
Thank you for your help too :)

Thank you Cassandra ^^.. I was going to say ..that I feel like I've already have been through a massive tumult..I've moved out of my parents house after leaving my over husband two years earlier..I've conceded to fault in a divorce when I was the one who left , hes been horrible to me the entire time , so when I read about this ..I wondered how much more must I go through ..I'm finally connecting with my daughter on a better level as well as my boyfriend after quite the rollercoaster relationship ..those two are harmonizing wonderfully and I wondered if that was just the nature of the universe ..I sign the divorce papers and another ***storm is on the way ? lol not to mention I still have a saturn return on the way >.<
The storms only come to teach and guide you on your best path. I went through pluto sq pluto/uranus , pluto conjunct sun, with it all hooking up to my chiron. Though tough things happened at that time, I now feel so lucky that it happened and that I see my life and ME so much more clearly now. PLuto shows you the real self, the shadow is bright and shiny as well as dark. Often we supress all we can be and pluto shows us a glimpse of who we really are. The endings are to allow new beginings. They help us let go of baggage we dont need, even show us we dont need any baggage we can let go and be free for a completely new tomorrow, more reflective of who we really are.
Pluto Saturn, they teach us about life, and their lessons can be so much more beneficial if we listen and are open to change....moving with the flow of life.

I recently had Pluto square natal Sun and conjunct the Asc.
My natal Sun is in late Virgo, conjunct Mars and Pluto in early Libra, all in the 8th house (Placidus) or on the cusp of the 10th (Equal house). So the energies stirred by the transit should have been somewhat familiar to me
Now that I look back, I agree with Donna Cunnigham who said that Pluto transit to Sun presents identity crisis, or in a woman's chart - reevaluation of her relationships with a man in her life. I can tell, it was one of the most intense times in my life so far.
During the transit Pluto theme showed up in many ways - I was doing way better financially, I got a position of control. Then I was betrayed and lost it all. Got dragged into a nasty fight with more powerful opponents. I thought I lost, but later (after the transit) turned out it was all for the best.
On the other end, truth about relationships inside my family flashed at me in a ruthless Pluto way. It was very painful to realize. But now I know.
My marriage was shaking to the roots. The words that were thrown at me left their cuts. They will heal, they already do. But something in our relationships or the way I see myself in it has changed, I think, forever.
All the stress brought me to doctor's office. I suspected something wrong with my heart (Sun-Mars conjunction!). But all was fine. Now, after the transit, my concerns are gone.
These are only major points of my learning material :). All in all, I can tell I emerged a different person, now more aware of my powers, willing to take control. I am still figuring out how I am going to integrate this new self awareness into our relationships. I badly what the past back, but it means I will have to change back too which I don't want and most likely can't do. So there is some work to be done.
In the middle of this year and a half ordeal, to understand what was going on, I turned to astrology (after 3 years of not thinking about it). And there I saw it - red fat line from Pluto to Sun. So, this is another thing the transit brought - resurrection of my 8th house interest :)
What was happening in your life when Pluto sextiled your Sun? In my life, it was the first major life-changing turn.

Pluto square Sun transit lasts for a LONG, long time.
It doesn't even need to be exact to be felt,
atleast it wasn't so in my case.
For me Pluto square Sun was one of the worst transits I've had.
And in some years I'll have Pluto trine Sun. Nice...
Everyone is different and will be affected differently by the transit,
but therapy seems to be one of those things that people get in to when they have this transit. Happened with me.
In my case I also dropped out of school, got seriously depressed and this lasted for a few years. Now Im much better though.
But I believe the reason why the transit affected me in such a devastating way was because my Sun is quite afflicted and natally I have Sun semisquare Pluto, not to mention that Sun is the strongest planet in my chart, so something was bound to happen.
And how to go about it? Don't fight it! Whatever happens, let it happen!
I struggled and fought and it helped nothing...School was not my thing and this is why I was forced to drop out because of depression. Pluto takes everything away from you that is NOT needed. Im thankful it happened, so even though things might get a little rough, it will get better in the end. Life will feel much 'lighter' when it's all over!
Good luck! :)
Oh, also what iwonder said about it causing an identity crisis...
Very true. I went through it myself and now I finally have a resolution for it.
Be whatever you want to be. And I really live by it.

Since you are not asking for an interpretation, here is some general information on how to handle Pluto transits:

Thank you everyone so much for your replies and your stories ♥ I actually feel tons better than I did because as far as I know its going to be exact the 15-18th and if it can be felt for some time , it explains so many things!Losing two grandparents within a week?My gall bladder removal and how horrible that was for me .. within a week of my sister which is the really screwy part.I didn't need psychiatric help now since I'd already gone through .. well most of my life lol Not in the sense my hardships are any worse than anyone elses, but I have always though " ****,why won't the universe stop messing with me?"I chalked it up to nice guys finish last lol But in the pain and struggle, there is inherent beauty..and what doesnt kill you makes you stronger :) There's much truth in that ^^I just hope soon enough I'll be able to relax and enjoy my peace as it is ..which is what I have been working toward this whole time.Astrologically I've tried to follow my destiny the best I know how ( nn in 4th ) and it feels right to me :)

So,ok my natal Pluto is 26 degrees Libra in my seventh..Right now it looks like its 1 degree cap in the 9th house..It's my understand that the square will be exact as I've mentioned in a couple days. The ninth..is about spiritually, travel , philosophy right ? ( im oversimplifying terribly )I could see how any kind of transit could show up in relationships when your natal is in that house..I don't have any idea what effects a transiting pluto has on a 9th house though , aside from natal placement.Ill guess ill put the chart up just in caSE i'M reading things incorrectly :) Which I have been known to do at times ^^
WiltonTC , you know what's funny is right near the beginning of the article you linked I read this
"Sometimes it's obvious because your insides are screaming with it. "Get out of this marriage[/URL]!!!" your miserable soul shouts at you. " And that's exactly what happend but that was over two years ago can I acribe some of that influence to this transit ?

Scratch the post I just put up ... if I'm not mistaken you've got this the wrong way round ... you've got transit Sun square natal Pluto. Transits of the Sun are pretty much 1-day affairs. Astrologers rarely take much notice of them. Being Sun and Pluto, you might experience a bit of a power struggle with someone; but everyone of your generation is undergoing this same transit around this time because Pluto moves so slow.
You do have transit of Mars squaring your natal Sun in the next few days which happens also to be near your Descendent. Handle that one by trying to keep your temper and avoid arguments with loved ones.
Next year ... you can get interested in your Pluto transits as you have it squaring Venus and Mercury. That'll be big for you as a Libran Sun.

Thank you Insideoutorange ... I had no idea .. I was looking up transits and it popped up as a daily transit so that what started concerning me.This is the exact text ( it's from Kepler )
Jan 16, 2009 6:53 AM (Jan 15 to Jan 17) Sun Sqr Plu
Jan 16, 2009 (Jan 15, 2009 to Jan 17, 2009) Sun Sqr Plu
Underlying or previously hidden aspects of a situation come to light now.
The misuse of personal power, dominating or manipulating others, and the subtle ways you try to control situations or other people are issues. The tyrant in you comes out, or you
find yourself dealing with the more difficult, dark, tyrannical side in other people.
Also, this can be a time when you are forced to confront and deal with something which is no longer working - from old, outworn possessions to an unhealthy relationship or a
deeply ingrained, self-defeating attitude.
--------------------
And like I said , I know very little about transits so it was a little alarming. The I started researching it and got even more concerned and here's where I ended up at my wits end lol Now I at least know a little more on the subject itself.
And now I just read your updated post and I feel like an idiot >.< Now I'm right back at the beginning just when I thought I had some answers ..
I wish I could just delete this whole thing now because I'm that embarrassed for wasting peoples time...I'm really very very sorry.
Good thing I posted where I did , and I guess I'm still chalking my misfortunes up to no good deed going unpunished *sigh*

Transiting (moving planets in the sky) Pluto (transformation) going through the 9th house (expansion, also wisdom) can also indicate a transformation in the way you know things. Pluto is about the death and rebirth of things so it can indicate the death of an old way of knowing and the birth of a new way of knowing. Because your Birth Sun (self-expression) is conjunct (energy is combined with) your Descendant (others) and transiting Pluto is conjunct your birth Midheaven (outer world), Pluto square the Sun is going on right now, indicating some type of transformation going on with the way you express yourselves to others and in how you understand this self-expression to others.
As Orange hinted, you also have transiting Jupiter (expansion, also knowledge) trining (energy goes easily with) your birth Mercury (daily work, also analysis), so your ability to analyze everything is VERY strong at this time. Beware of "overthinking" things: Jupiter trine Mercury can indicate a "mental overflow". The Pluto process is one of those things that "you know it when you see it". And now that you are more aware of it, you will more clearly see how it is working for you in your own life.

Thank you Wilson .. I was wondering why I was over thinking everything for no specific reason,I figured it was astrological because there isn't really any practical reason I should be stressing myself out.Lot's I got out of that .. over thinking something I have no business worrying about :o

Ahh don't worry about it. That's exactly what this forum's for. It was good to see some thoughts on tPluto square nSun; and we should probably all taking on the lesson of jumping to conclusions about a chart without seeing it.
