Let's say you have Venus in Aquarius, and your ascendant is Gemini in the Aqua dwad. Venus trines the ascendant, but would Venus be partly conjunct the rising due to the dwad?

Polo, if I understand your question, Venus and the ascendant would have to be within a 5-7 degree orb to be considered as a trine. Then the dwad of the AS really doesn't create some other sort of aspect here. What it does is to reinforce the Aquarian dimension of the individual. Sometimes you will see patterns in dwads that reinforce other features of a chart.

Polo,

I am really confused by your question. A planet can be either trine the Ascendant or conjunct the Ascendant. It can't do both at the same time. The dwad has nothing to do with the "sign" of the planet. A planet in the "sign" of Gemini is a planet in Gemini, no matter whether it is in the Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius dwad. The dwad of the sign of a planet or point only affects the planet or point but it doesn't change an aspect. So a Gemini Ascendant in the Aquarius dwad will still be a Gemini Ascendant, but it will have a little "flavor" of Aquarius added to it. This has NOTHING to do with what planet aspects the Ascendant.

Confusedly,

Tim
