SOLAR ECLIPSE JAN 26TH 2009 - 06 DEG AQUARIUS
LUNAR ECLIPSE FEB 09TH 2009- 20 DEG LEO
i haven't seen any thread on the january 2009 eclipse yet, so i thought i would start one since its going to be on my birthday.
anyone know what the theme of this eclipse is going to be?
is it conjuncting anyone's planets?
its hitting my sun conj IC, (and jupiter will be conj my sun too) so im real curious how its going to effect me. home life? definetley. move? hopefully. were still waiting for the finalization of our building being sold, and if we are headed off to the west coast.

Solar eclipse will be 2 degrees conjunct my Moon, in 7th house :)
I don't really know how important eclipses are, but they do affect me, I noticed.

I had the Lunar Eclipse on my birthday last August 16th. Honestly... I cannot see any big changes. But I have read that Eclipses have a long effect. This just happened four months back. I still believe that it is going to effect me and I am standing ready for it. But on this past year, I have been looking at the stars and re learning astrology. Also I have read that there are different strengths in these Eclipses. I wish you well.

It appears the eclipse will be over Angolia and parts of Australia. The next total eclipse will be July 22nd and will affect china. Some feel that unless it passes near to your location an eclipse will have little if any affect. If it does have an affect the annular eclipse in Jan will be opposite my natal venus in leo at 7'38. The last eclipse went principly over China. From what I have read it does seem to have long term effects and it was conjunct venus/mars at that time. I am not sure what to look for as far as change.

yeah lion king, it takes a transit to trigger the effect of an eclipse. what house was the eclipse hitting ur sun? you didnt feel anything? the eclipse on this coming january in aquarius will be exact deg my sun, conjunct my IC, but at the same time jupiter will be 2 deg away, so im wondering if this eclipse will bring out some action (something that has been waiting to happen) . i hope its nothing negative because my sun aspect are afflicted by saturn and pluto. but i have jupiter there to bring me some luck. :) maybe it will just be harder for me to have confidence to actually make a change. i guess we'll see.

From my experience eclipses can be triggered by transiting planets for +/- 6 months. Look to the eclipse degree and watch the faster moving planets to see when they hit. For instance, Venus transited the 26 Jan eclipse degree of 6 Aquarius just recently, so perhaps that could give one an inkling into what the eclipse is activating. I believe Mars and the transiting Node will be around the eclipse point in February.
I personally don't have anything triggered by this one, however my ex-wife has Venus at 7 Aquarius and the person I have been casually dating has Venus at 5 Aquarius, so I would expect to watch something happen in both of their cases.

can an eclipse bring back stuff from the past? or better yet let me ask this, last year's feb eclipse in aquarius... can this upcoming eclipse bring up issues that were brought out in last years aquarius eclipse? or did not that make any sense? lol
January 26th is Australia Day, Rebuplic Day in INdia, and Liberation Day in Uganda.
So I think it is worth looking at the Australian chart to see what influences are about, seeing as the eclipse will be over some parts of Australia.

That depends, I would guess, on the house position of the eclipse(s) in question. If the 2/08 solar eclipse happened in the same house as the 1/09 eclipse, then it could definitely generate similar issues.
The eclipse location is about 11 degrees off of the eclipse from last year, so it's doubtful it would impact the same planets or points in your chart.
The other way to look up connections is to follow the Saros cycle, however that usually doesn't repeat for many years, possibly decades.

Thanks for postin this Venus didnt know there was going to be an eclipse...It is gonna be squaring my Sun, Merc, Venus, Mars...squares are supposed to be a challenge arent they hmmn and it also opposes my NN so I guess this one may have quite a big effect arent eclipses supposed to help some things die off for other better things to take their place?

anna violet,
[QUOTE]to help some things die off for other better things to take their place?/QUOTE]
true. it is also said when u want to get rid of something, to do it during an eclipse. eclipses also bring things out to the public as well. i.e. like a secret or something like that. especially important info can come out. eclipses can bring ends or beginnings. carol rushman says:" An eclipse signals the beginning or ending of a cycle of development in your life, which can work either positively or negatively." eclipses can also make events happen that you have been waiting for. for instance, if you have been waiting and waiting for some important event to happen, and the eclipse triggers it, u will see how it goes depending on the eclipse and the aspects it touches.

Hi Venus,
Ah thanks for explaining that...Just before the last eclipse I read something that was saying an eclipse is a potent lunation and a good time to ask for something..then I was chatting to my friend and she said she really wanted to meet someone and I said I did too so we decided to write a prayer asking for partners listing their qualities etc and then burn it at the height of the eclipse..so we did this and then 2 weeks later the day before the lunar eclipse she met a woman who she is now totally in love and together with! I met someone too about a month and a half later but its not working out- I guess it wasnt the right time for me!

thats such an interesting ritual! ive heard of something like that before, but not at the height of an eclipse. by "height of the eclipse," do u mean as its happening in the moment?
sorry it didnt go as planned. :( maybe for you its not working out, because the eclipse wasn't setting off any 7th or 5th house stuff for you? was the eclipse effecting any planets of yours when you did this?

Hi :)
I looked on the net and found out the time of most coverage and then burnt the prayer...I didnt check what stuff the eclipse was setting off tho- that'd have been a good idea may do that now. Also be interesting to see about my friend as she is now in a relationship...we had a joke that her prayer worked cos I used some special paper but she just used normal! lol!
I did have/have saturn trining venus tho and thought that was sposed to be a sign of commited relationship but im sure there have to be other astro factors involved..the guy i met is a commitment phobe  lol
So what do you think the eclipse will bring you or what would you like it to bring?

anna violet,
you should check to see what planets of your friend's were conjunct the eclipse! its a great learning tool :)
im guessing that this upcoming eclipse will have to do with a move. not actually moving that day, but maybe some news about it. (i am probably moving to the west coast.) but im also guessing it might have to do with something financially, because my sun sextiles jupiter and uranus in the 2nd house. + jupiter will be on my sun that day. maybe ill get a nice unexpected job :D (im not working at the moment) when i see some action ill def post, so we can see how this eclipse effected my chart. im extra curious because my solar return for that day im a triple aquarius all conjunct the eclipse.

This eclipse will be conj my natal Moon (3 Aqu, 5th house) and opposite natal Jupiter (4 Leo, 11th house).
Coincidentally, does anyone remembers the Solar eclipse of 26 Jan 1990? That too was in the same degree (6 Aqu). I still remember 1990 as the best year of my life. So, not every eclipse has to be dramatic, it would be nice to get a repeat of the 1990's one!
I believe that Bernadette Brady thinks that the Jan 26 eclipse will be a good one. :)

The New Moon in Aquarius on Jan 26th (Australia Day holiday - rah, rah) is equally as impressive astrologically as the full-on New Moon in Capricorn an hour or so ago. The eclipse adds extra oomph!!
Sun, Moon, Jupiter & North Node all conjunct in early Aquarius, as well as Neptune & Chiron conjunct later in aquarius -
Venus conjunct Uranus in Pisces opposing Saturn in Virgo -
Three planets in Capricorn, including Mercury & Mars conjunct (both also conjunct my natal Asc) -
We're living in exciting times!!

Wow its time for eclipses again, so soon! Thanks for the reminder.:)
And its just near Jupiter, that might be nice... mmm.
It falls in my 2nd house (??), and trine my Libra Pluto/Gemini South Node. Should be interesting with Hades involved! It conjuncts my progressed Mercury, which rules my 5th house.
It also is exactly opposite my b/f natal Moon, ruling his 4th house. And trines his progressed Moon which is approaching my South Node.
Me thinks something is afoot here!

I did a search and found this information on eclipses and found it amazing. The information was written on this site BTW:
The ancient rule was that the effects of a Solar eclipse last as long in years as the eclipse lasts in hours; of a Lunar eclipse, a month for every hour. From a Figure cast for the moment of commencement of the eclipse, events were deduced as affecting countries ruled by the ascending Sign, based upon the strength of the planets in the Signs and Houses
Some modern authorities consider that the countries which lie within the eclipse shadow are probably those in which the events signified by the eclipse will be felt. In the Nativity, the eclipse is most powerful when it falls upon the birth position of a planet, luminary, or ascending degree.
Contrary to ancient superstitions, eclipses are not uniformly evil. One man's loss is often another's gain, and an eclipse in good aspect to a benefic under good directions can result favorably. Those on the places of the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or M.C. and on the malefics are, however, unfavorable influences. Frequently their effects are not felt until some time thereafter, when another planet, principally Mars, transits over the degree on which the eclipse occurred. Thus an eclipse-degree becomes a sensitive point for several years after the eclipse has passed; in fact, until its consummation is attained with a subsequent transit of Saturn over the eclipse degree. Frequent reference to the following tables in connection with current or past events, will contribute vastly to an understanding of the major trends that are set into motion by the third dimension of the Moon's orbit - that which is vertical to the plane, marked midway by the passing of the Nodes.
So it would appear, since I have this particular eclipse falling directly on my ascendent of Aquarius at 6:22 degrees (Venus conjunct on one side, Moon on the other side), that this particular eclipse is not exactly going to be 'something I should look forward to'....I find it interesting to note that the affects will not be felt until Mars transits over it, and that the eclipse will be felt for several years or until Saturn passes over my ascendent. Since Saturn is upon my Saturn return, this event will take many, many years to come before this eclispe is 'done'....
It doesn't exactly sound like a 'walk in the park' if you know what I mean.
Any thoughts of this 'gloom and doom' picture, or am I overreacting?
I attached my natal chart (it has some progressions I was looking at, but don't pay attention to those)....I'm more worried about the 'impending doom' of the eclipse....
Thanks for your help !!!!

Wow thats alot going on in that ASC area of your chart regardless of an eclipse, and that is exact then, I went to a lecture last fri the speaker specifically spoke on the coming years eclipses this ones effects will last 6 years, as the above article mentions the eclipse is 6hrs 4min it is solar so it lasts 6yrs. It is #51 in saros series 131 which began in 1125 AD. Effects are strongest in visiblity areas (Sumatra Java S.Africa) I don't wanna be your doomsayer, please try not to be negative or worrysome(very saturnian comment you said) This eclipse IS connected with Jupiter.
from what I remember in the lecture this one isn't all that bad. J.Lily

Well, if this is the case, Mars will go over the eclipse point some two weeks later, around 13th February, and Saturn will take more than 6 years to come to the point so...
Could someone explain if this eclipse is on my natal Moon in 7th house, can I expect positive or negative effects out of it?

(I see that my chart posting has expired and so, being cyber-challenged, I will post it again in a new -- the next -- reply.)
The January 26, 2009 solar eclipse falls in my natal 6H Capricorn, conjunct my natal Jupiter (located there at 5 degrees 55' 54" Aquarius). Transiting Jupiter also is conjunct natal Jupiter. Looks rather bright -- fortunate, expansive, Jupiter-y effect for all things 6H (daily routine/work and health)? I understand also from reading the Lllewellyn that NN transiting through the same house as the solar elcipse sun can indicate "opening doors"?
Jupiter is Ruler of Sagittarius, my natal 5H cusp. Pregnancy not possible for me, but good things re my children? Or does it mean that my (divorcing)brother-in-law's children really do come to stay with us this summer?
I understand also from Llewellyn that NN transiting through the house in which solar eclipse occurs indicates opening doors?
But I'm not crowing with delight, not yet (especially about those poor damaged children coming into my care). There seem to be "blots" on what at first glance looks like a pretty picture -- hard aspects. The solar eclipse squares natal Sun/Mercury/MC, and also squares natal Uranus (Ruler of Aquarius), the planet conjunct my Leo AC.
Can anyone help? Squares between transiting (eclipse) Sun and natal 9H/10H Sun/Mercury and MC indicate difficulties with issues of these houses, angles?Am particularly concerned about 7H Aquarius (partnerships/marriage) since my 2009/10 solar return chart depicts a hard year (AC/DC reversed) that's all about 1H/7H relationships. I am wondering how (and if) the Aquarian solar eclipse plays into Aquarius 7H/DC partnership issues.
The solar eclipse conj. Jupiter/5H Sagittarius connection is confusing for me because in my progressed chart, the solar eclipse again conjuncts Jupiter (here a 2 degree orb), but Jupiter is now in Aquarius in 5H Capricorn. Capricorn, indicating constrictions, stringent lessons?
Finishing up here, with a (probably dumb) question: How do people like me, who are appreciative of all we learn on this website, who are grateful for all help received -- how do we give back when we are not (yet) astrologically knowledgeable enough, and consequently not confident enough, to answer posters' queries?
My urge (and usual way of showing appreciation) is to pop by with a home-made apple pie, but that's not possible in the cyber-sphere.

Hermetic, The solar eclipse on the 26th, if it is with in 3 degrees of a planet, should affect your moon. This eclipse will be the dragons head or north node and has more benefits.
Celeste Teal wrote in ECLIPSES on page 113 :
North node Solar eclipse-beginnings, courage to allow new energy in ; spirit and ego.
South Node Solar eclipse-Beginnings depend on release; spirit and ego;filtering.
North Node Lunar eclipse-Culmination creates openings;soul and emotion;joy.
South Node Lunar eclipse-Culmination and release; soul and emotion;filtering
The moon implies mother, women, emotions, birth or those things related to women and the 7th house implies partnerships, open enemies.
It does become affective in Feb 12 or 14 or thereabouts by mars transit over the area. Look for charged emotions in your case up to several days prior to the exact transit. Sometimes the individual is overwhelmed by the influx of stimuli and it may take awhile to sort through it. I can attest to that with the August 1st and really the Feb 20th dragons tail lunar at 1' 53 degrees Virgo which was almost exactly conjunct natal Pluto in the 6th. When the sun transited that spot in August 24 I found out I did not get the manageres job I interviewed for and I was overwhelmed with emotion and I could not make heads or tails (no pun intended) of it.

Starbridge,
the eclipse will activate Jupiter. Jupiter is in the 6th is not quite as strong in your natal as it would be in an angle but it does receive a lot of aspects. As ruler of your 5th creativity could be expanded or increases spiritual connections to creative work. It is beneficial as this is the dragons head solar and should lend to more positive influence. Since it is in your 6th you might find positive health or change in life styel to reflect spiritual beliefs. Let us know:)

Hi, From what I've read it is significant if it falls on one of the ang., and being conj your moon could show changes in relationships with women and partnerships. There could be a significant relationship with a woman. The 7th of partnerships, open enemies and what you attract. Also, you will want to look and see if it opposes any planets in your 1st h.
Also, seems like I read somewhere that it is impt to check solar return to see where it falls??
Cheers!

Hello Cassandra -- Re positive change in 6H lifestyle/health, perhaps I will make January 26 my bona fide quit smoking date. (Am weaning off now.) I remember reading somewhere that one can attempt to engage eclipse energies for certain projects, but forget whether this would be a good or bad decision for something so difficult as addicition. So wedded am I physically and behaviorially to the horrid habit, for me it is a "spiritual battle." ~~ S

Hi Tootsie, Happy New Year (day late)! And thanks for your thoughts.
Solar eclipse conjunct Jupiter(s) and transiting Moon (woman/mother?) perhaps will mean positive developments with my estranged mother, with whom I am carefully attempting reconnection. Or this woman might be an influential, intriguing woman with whom I have an opportunity to be better friends. Wish 7H "open enemies" weren't a factor, but there it is.
No tr./eclipse Sun oppositions to natal 1H planets but 1/26 tr. Sun being conj. Jupiters(s) -- would this energize natal 6H Jupiter/1H Pluto quincunx (minor aspect indicating adjustments)?
IN 09 SR chart, solar eclipse falls in 12H Aquarius, conjuncts SR NN. SR Jupiter is at the end of the house conjunct SR Aquarian AC. I'm glad of this as I understand that Jupiter conj. AC can be a benefitic (sp?) aspect, especially since I have a difficult, relationship-issues year ahead with 1H/7H-AC/DC reversed.

Starbridge, I would not include the moon in your eclipse focus as it is only conjunction and oppositions. It may be that the aspects jupiter makes in the natal will come to light but the focus will be on 'expansion' 'spirituality' or key words for jupiter.
There is some controversy about making any big decisions around the eclipse but evidently a positive eclipse, as this one, can help break habit patterns. Good luck with that...jupiter does forewarn of over optimism but the eclipse can bring the extra strength to do it.

Cassandra -- thank you. (Sigh.) Need to think about of this. I teach Sunday School to adorable six-year olds, and doing so "feeds" me even as I "feed" them in an agape way, but I haven't been feeling too spiritual lately. Actually, I feel rather discouraged and and dried-up and distant when when I think about my church in particular and my relationship with God/Love in general. So, where the shoe pinches, right? Mangled pun: this pinch "fits" with spiritual journey.

I had a N Node eclipse on my natal Juno in 2007, at 29 Pisces. I started a job on that very day, I think it was March 2007. In Jan 2008 I handed in my notice because the conditions were no longer bearable. Mars had been transiting square to this eclipse point during the summer of 2007, and conflicts at work had been rising for me around this time (and before). The first direct transit of Mars in Gemini started in Sept 2007, then retrograde in Dec 2007 when I handed in my notice.
However my friend also started a job on that day, he was also having problems in the summer but he stayed in his job.
It will be interesting to see how Mars affects this eclipes point. I'm glad though its not retrograding back and forth over this one this time.

I cant predict what will happen on this eclipse even for myself... althought it's in my 10th house and aspecting 4 natal planets (sun, mars, merc, jupiter). I would garner a guess and say that there could be a change to my career, father or boss, or some important man in my life.
Since i started following astrology i've noticed that every eclipse has had a major impact on my life... the virgo-pisces eclipses in the past years were extremely emotionally trying times for me especially when they aspected my moon, saturn, nept t-square and asc.. The last leo-aqua eclipse was also a shocker
At these times secrets/hidden actions were revealed, ive undergone major crisies, changes and taken drastic measures as a result of what was revealed. Ive also taken on new jobs on the day or the week of three of the eclipses. I moved out of the country during one eclipse. None of these events were planned...at least by me.

My friend is having an operation that day too. Moulin. He's not worried, so I'm not either :-)
As for eclipses, I've noticed that things do happen very frequently on the exact day it happens, even if they are not exactly aspecting a natal planet. Remember the 3 days eclipse shadow rule. People's emotions are so much more intense the 3 days surrounding an eclipse, that its best to keep one's counsel until those 3 days have passed, so as not over-react, and then have to retract. Especially since Mercury is retrograde!
A very astute astrologer friend of mine uses eclipses to break down emotional barriers. He confronted his parents on one eclipse years ago...and they got so much more out and dealt with than they would normally have.
I've been tracking eclipses for years, and I see them as a cosmic kick in the pants. If you're on track, then fine, but if you're off track, then the eclipse not-so-elegantly boots you back on to your track. i.e. if you're just reading water in a relationship you know is not right for you, that could be when she leaves you. You get the drift.
I see all transits as beneficial, even if they're painful at the time. They get us to where we need to be, even if its kicking and screaming :p
The Saros series can give up a lot of information. This solar eclipse is 11 North. The new moon is on the Uranus/node midpoint and Jupiter is on the midpoint of Venus/Saturn (in the series). Interpretation: "under the influence of this family of eclipses, individual may suddenly change the groups within which they are mixing, either through travel or ideas. However, the separation implied by the venus-Saturn would produce very positive outcomes. This whole eclipse Series could also talk of suddenly decided to make greater commitments in relationship. either way, the eclipse is gentle and individuals can trust the situations that arise and allow themselves to be led along by their momentum."from Eagle and the Lark by BBrady,.
The solar eclipse is on my Saturn, ruler of my 7th house. The lunar eclipse is right on my Dsc, I expect a new relationship to enter my life.....in some form or another :)
In olden times eclipses foretold the death of kings, or their rise to power. In modern times...it seems to translate to famous people crossing over. Remember the grand cross eclipse of 1997? It was a doozy. Within that one week or two, Princess Diana and Mother Teresa both died. This month, Jett Travolta seems to be the one. Last January, at solar eclipse time, Heath Ledger's death was huge in the news.
Watch....even as the solar eclipse gets closer.

oh wow this is interesting!
I didn't realise until now that both Solar and Lunar eclipses will touch my natal planets or points. And very closely, too! The solar eclipse is exaclty opposite my natal Jupiter in 6th house (6 leo 38), sag ruler of 10th, so maybe my career will take off soon (I hope).
But The lunar eclipse is more interesting to me though. At 20 leo, its exactly opposite my sun/moon midpoint at 20 aqua 15!! I hope this means my love life will improve:) . Any suggestions? Could it mean a start of a significant relationship for me this year?
By the way, my recent solar return in Jan, had also a lunar return which I read somewhere means emotional time for me this year. Not sure. Hope good emotional time then, especially in combination with the lunar eclipse triggering my sun/moon midpoint!
So when could I expect things to start rolling in regards to love or career? Is it when Mars opposes or conjuncts these points?
Hope to get some advise on this.
Thanks

yeah lion king, it takes a transit to trigger the effect of an eclipse. what house was the eclipse hitting ur sun? you didnt feel anything? the eclipse on this coming january in aquarius will be exact deg my sun, conjunct my IC, but at the same time jupiter will be 2 deg away, so im wondering if this eclipse will bring out some action (something that has been waiting to happen) . i hope its nothing negative because my sun aspect are afflicted by saturn and pluto. but i have jupiter there to bring me some luck. :) maybe it will just be harder for me to have confidence to actually make a change. i guess we'll see.
Eclipse will hit my Sun/Aquarius by 1 degree in my 4th house squaring
natal Mars in Scorpio. Any feed back on this?:o

My ex has come back into my life recently. The eclipse will conjuct our composite Juno, which trines composite Uranus and square composite Saturn. Hmm.. I'll be watching the 6 degree Aquarius point in the future to see how and if the transits from the planets to this point affect it.

The coming eclipse will affect me, perhaps indirectly in some ways.
My ex has Venus at 7 degrees of Aquarius, and another person that I have a romantic interest in has Venus at 5 Aquarius and progressed Sun at 4 Aquarius.
I have a progressed Moon right now at 6 Aquarius, so I imagine I'll be seeing an effect.
The eclipse will also trine my Midheaven, and that effect has already started to manifest through promotion and recognition in my work.

The eclipse will be conjuncting my natal Moon in the 7th house, and will be very close to my prog Jupiter which is in the early degrees of my 7th.
I have had a lot of 7th and 5th house activity in the last year (Neptune was not gentle in the last degrees of my 7th, neither was Pluto in the last deg of my 5th), so needless to say I am freaked and hoping that the eclipse does not result in more trauma for me.

Just a note here to tell my saga of the 1999 Leo eclipse that fell exactly on my ascendant - my astrologer friends were feeding me some very bad tales of woe and how horribly this eclipse would affect me. The result: it did not! "They" told me I would need surgery (that eclipse also squared my Mars) - no surgery needed! No health problems of any kind. In fact, it was just another day!
Please, don't freightened by eclipses - the "old" school astrology doesn't always pan out and that's a good thing.

Thank you for the encouragement VenusinSagg. :) I am gun shy because so far, every major astrological event has caused a real-life 'hiccup' in whatever house it occurrs in. When Neptune came out of Rx and went direct in my 7th in November, for example, the results were crushing. So with an eclipse there, I just don't know what to expect. I feel like pulling the covers over my head until February. lol

From my own experience, and what I've heard from others, relationships that begin around the time of an eclipse often burn brightly briefly, then fizzle out quickly. Even so, they can sometimes bring great change, and alot of "Aha" moments.
So, I don't know that it would be "bad" or "detrimental". Just be prepared for the unexpected!

SixAquarius,
You wrote:
I took a quick peek at your chart. From that, I would expect the eclipse energies to play out in your chart in these areas:
Freedom, rebellion, service, equality, emotional distance, detachment
The two co-rulers of your natal ASC are Saturn and Uranus, which are currently involved in a stare-down. Plus, you are having a Saturn return and a Jupiter return. This is also echoed in your chart natally by the exact inconjunct of Jupiter in Aquarius in the 1st to Saturn(r) in Virgo on the cusp of 7th/8th. Lots of Aquarius/Saturn/ Virgo/Pisces type of issues.
I would guess you will be doing alot of re-evaluating of the types of service you do, and to whom you serve, and why. If you are not already involved in your true "life's work" - you may find it at this time. If you already are involved in it to some extent, it may broaden and deepen at this time. ( "time" = Eclipse and transits to it.) You may also get involved in women's rights issues and/or humanitarian/charitable work at this time.
Your natal Mars in Libra is retrograde and in the 8th, conjunct the SN. Possibly you will heal from some past abusive relationships with men. Have you ever thought of joining or working with a woman's empowerment group? Volunteering at a domestic violence shelter?
Just some thoughts..... hope it helps a little.

So based on everyone's deductions, I'd say that I too will have an Aquarius Eclispe. It's on the DSC, 7th house. Since it hits on Relationships(Hey, something actually hit on relationships) Saturn=Lack of relationships/passionate one. So hopefully that gives the single me some good luck.

I've heard around something big is supposed to happen this day but nobody says just what.
Was playing arround with google and came up with this which maybe means nothing.
January 26, 2009 is the first day of the Chinese new year.
I guess it's the year of the Ox.
(shrugs)
I don't know the signifigance.
Havn't read this but it looked intersting.
http://planetaryenergies.net/2009/01/02/astrological-overview-2009/
I have ugly transits right now IMO.
I'm laying low.
Too many hard ones.
Transiting mars square mars, Transiting Jupiter square jupiter....
It all get's caught up in my ugly horrible squareorama I have in my chart....so I'm trying to take care right now.
Transits on this day of the 26th don't look great for me either....it's not that far off, haha, so....yeah
I've been looking at other charts though, transits for 2009, 2010.
2010 looks like an insane year.
The opposition of saturn, to jupiter and uranus in July or august, or both...look crazy....you'll see it if you play arround with dates...and there is a pluto square there as well...I''m just looking at this now...rough looking transits....
Saturn enters Libra.
Opposes Rx planets Jupiter and Uranus...right at the begining of aries...this whole, "revolution" thing with Obama, and this whole, springing forward with change etc....it's just odd to me...seems to good to be true in some ways...I feel like we are in for a nasty ride...just a hunch...
Jupiter just entered Aquarious so of course that will effect this eclipse..would it not?
It is conj, so...I don't know what to make of this one.
It passes over no major areas....then again, the place it pases over I know nothing of....I don't know what to make of this one on a global level...would like to see more of that.
THe one in July looks more intersting to me being it is on the day of my solar return.
My BD is on the 22nd of July, but my solar return is on the 21st......don't ask me how that works out....I don't get it yet....
anyway....that one has the eclipse opposite the NN...and that aspect looks very very curious to me....I don't hae a clue what to make of it, the eclipse being opposite the NN...I'd start a thread on it but how can I lay low when I'm starting threads...haha...
Good luck on the 26th all.
Enjoy venus in the sky the next few nights, she should be bright....I think...
And hope for NO WAR to break out...I suppose the price for peace is eternal war....but I'm not always sure which one I value more, having neither seems impossible while existing. Hopefully nothing strange goes on with NATO and This whole Russia thing that I still think is going to take off sometime soon....I don't know how that one is going to go....how will Obama handle the whole Base being placed in Chech. and Polland.
I don't like the way things look right now....
Well see how this goes.
Don't be scared of nothin.:)
Had the creepy bible people stop by yesturday to read me revelations...there not creepy, just anoying, I wasn't annoyed...I don't know what i was....I was laughing and they wanted to talk to a scared person I think...someone scared of how things are going...."out there" Things were jsut fine where I was standing though so I was laughing...haha...And satan was cast from heaven to earth with all the angels...etc...etc....don't know why I bright that up....it's on my mind..they stoped by at a weird time of the day when I was reading something else...
As far as me, the eclipse happens just shy of all my plaents in Libra, so I eally don't see this effecting me too much overall....at least teh eclipse...
IT is 5 degrees wide of an exact opposition to my sun while the next eclipse is on my sun...so maybe I should watch these more closely. It would be nice to have 10 times the time that everone else had durring the day.

For me, the eclipse is in my 3rd house, opposite my Natal Mars in the 9th, and also septile my natal Sun in the 4th-- Further, the last New Moon happened to be conjunct my Natal Moon in the 2nd-- ideas, input, comments? As some background, I've recently relocated (near my Venus IC line, in Astro-cart-ography), and am currently without a job-- With Jupiter joining in the opposition, is there a positive indication, for me? I know the opposition to Mars doesn't look to friendly, but doesn't the septile to the Sun indicate some sort of "inspiration'? And doesn't the New Moon in the 2nd indicates new feelings/attitudes toward my finances/resources?

Tomorrow, the day of the eclipse, I will have major structural works carries out in my home, which is on the verge of collapse due to subsidence (a gift from transiting Pluto in my 4th house! ).
I’ve been locked in a distressing dispute with my neighbours and the local Council for years now, both have been obstructing this essential works for financial reasons and/or short-sightedness but they have now accepted the need to carry out building works which will finally begin tomorrow. Its almost like I had a sense of who I was meant to be with romantically and this side of my life has been so up in the air for such a long time. The eclipse hit the mid-point of my natal Sun/Venus/Mercury. Merc rules 7th, Venus rules 5th and they are conjunct natally.
But one things for sure, I finally figured out a plan to get myself out of debt and sort out my finances. I've been hiding from bank statements, even from looking at my account for over a year now - quite frankly because its been scary to look at. Eclipse also fell in my 2nd house.

Eeek, looking to the July 7th Lunar eclipse, its one degree out (by opposition)from my natal 7th house Saturn, and trines my ascendant ruler Jupiter. Maybe the effects will not be strong as I'll not see it, and its mean't to be quite a weak eclipse.
But hotly on its tail, the 22nd July Solar will be opposite my natal Sun, exactly trine my Juno and land in my 7th/8th cusp. Agh, I forgot to add, this Solar eclipse is a potent total
one at the South Node.
Looking at my friend/ ex b/f chart, 7th July eclipse sextiles Chiron, trines Pluto/5th ruler, and Uranus/7th ruler. And Solar of 22nd July falls exactly on his Ascendant and inconjunct his Saturn.

OK, More info, and of course, more questions:
I read in " Forecasting With New, Full & Quarter Moons Through the Houses", by Sophia Mason, That the conjuncting planet to the eclipse(Jupiter) will become the main focal point of the year ahead, and to consider the affairs of the planet, sign position, and house this planet rules in the natal chart--in my case, I'm Pisces, co-ruled by Jupiter, and my natal Jupiter is in Pisces, in my 4th hse.-- Doesn't Jupiter rule the 5th house, of pleasure/gambling? The Eclipse was in my natal 3rd(communication/siblings/neighbors), opposite my natal Mars in Leo/9th(travel/Higher learning?). Ms. Mason further states that this eclipse can bring about change in mental attitude, change of environment, or conditions regarding siblings or close family, or neighbors. So, with Jupiter involved, I'm guessing that this means more to me, esp. w/my natal Mars opp., than some others,..?
Just for further perhaps unimportant info- this eclipse also was sextile my progressed Jupiter, in the 3rd, as well. Anyone care to decode all that??
Please? ;o) I also read in other posts, that Mars will activate the eclipse energy when it passes 6* AQ, on Feb 12, which, of course, means it will be opp. my natal Mars, as well ( which sounds somewhat foreboding)
as for add'l fuel, Pluto is approaching transit of my Natal Moon, @6* Cap, in my 2nd-- does all this portend the passing of my mom?? Uncomfortable to ponder,... ;o( I can see expansion of communication, but are 4th or 5th house issues possible as well?) Would appreciate anyone more skilled than I to illuminate or elucidate (on) my situation,... ;o)
Thanks!

Well apparenty this wasn't such a good promotion - they are holding it open to everyone else in the company except his department and him! In fact he suddenly has been struck with worry and thinking of quitting really soon. The eclipse fell in his 7th house, of other people, so maybe this triggered him being at the mercy of other people.
I still believe eclipses to have some good, the changes they create can be turbulent though. This possible closing of his job could lead him to a much better job.

Not sure what part of the planet you live on, Neptune Rising, but I've calculated that conjunction for Friday 13th 11:20am my local time - Australian Central Daylight time, which is 10.5 hours ahead of GMT. Me I'm terrible for details, Mars exactly conjuncts the point Thursday here in the UK, but I'm wondering if the effects will start to be felt just before..NR I'm sure the effects are being felt already, and as with any other conjunction, I've been feeling the deep stirrings of `trouble at mill' since some time last week. I can feel a real Martian crescendo building. Last night's full moon and eclispe conj both my natal Pluto & Saturn stirred things up hugely also.
Bu thanks for reminding me of the Mars @ 6-and-a-half deg Aquarius conjunction. I thought it was just me going crazy on another full moon. Everyone I know is either on the receiving end of crazy stuff - eg. accusations, law suits, fights over nothing - or they're stirring it up in those around them. My observation of it so far (from a position of sanity!!!) is that there's quite a lot of unstable Martian energy being released, and for sensitive souls that can be very confronting.
I'm also suspecting that the current bushfire crisis in Victoria, where there have been well over 100 lives lost and whole towns destroyed, may have its origins in this energy.

Folks, Just updating:
The part of Australia beneath the Eclipse shadow has, since the eclipse, experienced devastating bushfires (7,000 made homeless) and now-an earthquake:
http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,25206117-5001021,00.html
I think we are seeing the Eclipse play out here in the Traditional way.The Northern part of the country also experienced the worst floods in many years, since the eclipse.
The Prime Minister was in the middle of preparing Australians with strategies to deal with the current Economic crisis, when I guess you could say he was *eclipsed* by unprecedented natural disasters happening at both ends of the country simultaneously.
It has been claimed that the length of the effect of the eclipse is as long in months as it took for the eclipse to happen.(Can anyone confirm that?)I will check out how long that was, because Australia is being significantly affected.
Cheers

My American ephemeris puts it at April 9th, but my Halloran program sees it happening around the 26th March. Matrix likewise.
I only have AstroDienst to check. They gave the position of the North Node as 7'38"Aquarius on March 26th, and 6'20" Aquarius on April 9th.

That doesn't help at all, then.
I'm so hoping for some kind of flushing out (sorry about all these plumbing metaphors!!) of all the backed up rubbish which seems to be surrounding my family and me. I'd been waiting for it to occur with the other planets conjuncting this point - 6 deg 30' Aquarius - but no, things have just become more blocked.
But it certainly is an interesting point to ponder, freedomlover. If the other planets couldn't shift anything, then surely a north node in retrograde motion will clear things via the back door. (Further `plumbing' metaphor unintentional...)

:rotflmao: I'm sorry, can't help laughing - love the plumbing metaphors.
Speaking of plumbing metaphors, I took a look at your chart. To keep the continuity of the thread, I am posting my reply to this on the Venus retrograde thread - as that is what I saw affecting you more than the eclipse.
A note: Eclipses are not usually that powerful in one's chart unless directly impacting a personal planet or asteroid in very close orb. This would include Progressed planets. Personally, I would also include Solar Arcs.

Ahhh... we are not out of the woods yet on this eclipse. Mars in Leo will oppose the eclipse point somewhere around the first of November ( can't locate the exact date yet.) Mars will re-oppose the eclipse point probably sometime around the first of February, 2010, this time retrograde. (Mars stations retrograde at 19'42" Leo on December 20, 2009. Then it will make one more opposition after it goes direct on March 10, 2010 at 0'17" Leo. So, probably sometime around the first half of April 2010 will be the final opposition to this eclipse point.

That eclipse hitted exact my Asc at 5º 40' Aquarius and I was so busy That I didn't even knew until 2 or 3 weeks ago.
As a matter of fact I think I never worked so much in my life as I did these last months.I didn't even noticed that Jupiter was there too. Rewinding in time I only can say that I found that week a doccument that completly changed the way to approach a thesis I was doing.
Mars was in mine 12th with a "nice" inconjunction to my Pluto both rulers of My 10th, and another one to my Sun Moon conjunction - i would say a sort of domino effect.
I think Uranus was also involved if not according to the rules of orbs , at least with occured after that.
Can anyone explain me a litlle bit more of that impact? The only thing I know is that doccument made the difference for the better, because they invited me to continue the research I did there.
I also noticed that this eclipse will have effect for a long time, so I really would like to know something more because the next one - the Lunar in Cancer - will impact my Uranus in 6th.
