Advertising and astrological names

Which sign do you think gets their name used in advertising do you think?

Personally, I have seen so many things advertised with "Aquarius", I think Aquarius would win. I have a electric kettle at home called Aquarius!

Otherwise, these are the only ones I can think of:
Libra tampons
Gemini (a car model)
Virgo - a clothing label
Wasn't there are a Taurus car? (Ford make maybe?)

I'm with you - I think there was a Ford Taurus. Off slightly - there was an advertising type firm near here - Scorpio. They didn't last long. I wonder why :mrgreen: .

Has anyont tried to TM the signs of the Zodiac? I wonder how far they will get :P .

I can't think of any at the moment - a brain like syrup :oops: . But I'll ponder all day....

Can we invent some, if we can't think??

I've seen an Aries brand for cosmetics and kitschy beauty products. It's been there for some time now :)

Aquarius stands for the new, radical, unconventional and eclectic. Maybe that's why it's always on top of the times and doesn't go out of fashion, haha!

There is also Mercury News.

The first or second site that comes up in Google search for "Venus" is a site named Canal Venus - **** related. (low side of Venus)

There are plenty of firms and newspapers that include "Sun" in their brand...

"Jupiter" is used for management and shares companies - just search for "Jupiter" on Google and see what comes up.

Indeed, the astrological terms are well inserted in our consciousness, astrology is a part of our culture.

Hi all,

I think I once had a steam iron called Aquarius. I think the Aquarius name comes in application to things such as washing machines, kettles, steam irons and dishwashers comes from the 'aqua' association with water.

Of course, those of us in the know realise that it's more associated with Air. :P

Yes, the Ford 'Taurus'. I've always like Toyota's logo that looks much like the Taurus glyph. Money money money.......There seems to be more and more logos and such that also look like Aquarian 'waves' lately too.

I'm reaching here, but I remember some eye shadow colors that were named after some of the planets. They actually got the colors correct! Great thread idea 23. Good number too IMO. :wink:

Ford Taurus actually lives up to it's namesake.
A very sensible family car, one of the most reliable engines ever...well, for a domestic anyway..:P
A car with a huge cult following is the Honda Del Sol.
Very Leo-y car to me, attracts attention/high payers even 12 years later..has a "friendly, cheery" look to it..if that makes sense??
Always in bright colors too, no tan!
Makers dig sun-related names...Solara, Sunfire, Solstice, etc.

Company I used to work for was called "Medusa" AKA Algol... guess what happened to them? Bankrupt! Made bathing suits off all things..lol...don't think beach beauty with that name.

I think Libra Tampons can be quite apt a name though. Because they are afterall feminine products! And they probably want to bring Venus into the picture to attract more customers.

But I would think it would be apt for toiletries or cleanliness products to be called Virgo.. but I haven't seen any yet.

Both signs symbolised by aggressive creatures that naturally oppose one and other. I'm sure there have been times somewhere in the world where the two will have collided with each other head on.
