Okay, so personally I don't like to use the Sabain's when interpreting a chart, but I do think that they make a very interesting oracle.

I imagine you must all have the Linda Goodman book, which is where you are getting the 'when positive...', 'when negative...' interpretations from. Either that or you are using a different site to me. In any case here are the symbols I generated with the site I'm using, (I was looking for the site that gives interpretations on the symbol, to no success).

Hi all,

Given that there was another terrorist attack in Egypt last night, It caused me to wonder where the next terrorist attack will take place.

So I asked the oracle.

'Where will the next terrorist attack take place?'

AQUARIUS 2: AN UNEXPECTED THUNDERSTORM.

You may find that you are suddenly tested or taken by surprise. Inner strength and stability will be put to the test but you will learn a lot from the experience. The effect can be quite liberating, after the initial shock. Thunderstorms clear the air after an extreme buildup of energy, and they can often leave us with a sense of awe and wonder at the sometimes extreme power of natural events.

When positive: Sudden visitations of natural wonder. Storms in a tea cup.

When negative: Losing control without warning. Emotional instability. Bottling up and then blowing up.

This symbol is eerily descriptive of a terrorist attack, and just seems to confirm that there is indeed more attacks to come, but that is obvious, and my question was where will this be. The symbol tells us that it will be 'unexpected', so will it occur in a place which has not yet succumbed to an attack, somewhere no-one would expect?

This symbol doesn't give enough to go on, so I asked again:

There may be a need to consult with aged wisdom, either within yourself or from without. The 'wise owl' sees all, seeing what others miss, and keeps very quiet whilst digesting all that's going on. Emulating this behavior will bring a certain solitude, but this may be just what's needed. Can sometimes indicate a degree of insomnia caused by thinking too much at bedtime.

Positive: Wisdom and strength. Evening contemplation. Night owls. Having peripheral vision.

Negative: Smug denial of available wisdom. Not saying anything even when it's needed. Acting like one knows it all.

I wasn't sure what to make of this. Firstly, the fact that the owl is described as perched high up in a tree, then does this show that there will be another attack from the sky, as in September 11th? Or, does the owl in the tree symbolise the nation itself, and so show a nation which is at a high geographic altitude, and known for it's wisdom?

I was caused to wonder if the owl is a symbol of any particular nation? My search was unsuccessful. Can anyone associate owl symbolism with a particular nation?

While searching I found this poem, could it describe the future attack?:

This sabian symbol beautifully reflects what I believe my main inner dilemma to be at this time--frustration of my inability to recreate physical counterparts of the images I so clearly see in my mind's eye. Akin to an artist striving to find the most perfect form of expression of an elusive idea, I too have been attempting to realize my abundant supply of inspiration into some tangible form, and have grown frustrated of my inability to do so.

I am having technical probles with the forum.

This is a bit odd, but I just asked the Sabian Symbols' Oracle (http://astrologyweekly.com/sabian-symbols/index.php) to reveal my true Ascendant and received 27º Pisces - a very realistic estimate within the possible time frame of my birth.

Shocked, I asked a similar quesiton and received a degree for Sagittarius; I then refocused my energies and received 5º Pisces.

What does this mean? :confused:

What does this mean?

First I think you cannot expect the Oracle to give you the same answer every time you ask what it seems to be the same question.
The first time, it might have been the right answer. But the second time, the real question might have been "I don't believe you, try again" or "Come on, give me the answer I want to hear!;)".

You already received two Pisces degrees... that could interpreted as a SIGN, if you were open to accept it. But also, it could be taken otherwise... (couldn't tell you how)
I can imagine that the first question was genuine. The two others were mere reflections of your disbelief.

Draco, that's weird about the threesome, but sometimes the oracle gets downright literal with me too.

In fact, I had an alarmingly literal "conversation" with the Sabian Oracle last night. It went a little something like this -- I was trying to write a paper comparing two Symphonies, but I couldn't motivate myself to get started, and so I asked the symbols:

I had never seen that symbol before, so I went and checked my symbol guide, and apparently 2 Libra had been changed to "A symphony is played dramatizing man's heroic ascent". Ha! I didn't do any heroic ascending. In fact, I said to the symbols...

Are you really concentrating seriously on the questions (and answers) or was I just having beginners luck with mine?

I've been getting the impression that Draco has been concentrating too much on the questions and especially the answers the Oracle yields, and the process seems as impossible as squeezing blood from a stone!

Try relaxing a bit, taking a break and consulting the Oracle when the time feels right--not because you're impatient to get answers. For every successful question and answer session I've had with the Oracle, there have been scores of times I have attempted to wrestle answers out of a seemingly impersonal, automatic symbol generator with little success. I've often achieved greater success envisioning a specific scenario and allowing my mind to conjure related feelings, clicking the button only when I've sufficiently forgotten my original intention to receive an answer, than simply voicing a question aloud. This technique may take some time and patience to cultivate, as it utilizes a different part of the brain than most logical-thinking Virgos prefer, but the rewards will be numerous--increased intuition, less dependence upon outside forces, etc. I believe that the goal with every divination tool is to eventually reach a level where it is no longer necessary to use a "middle man" to reach Source.

I think so yes. What I was doing, was 'clairvoyantly' writing the question down on a blank piece of paper, and as soon as I dotted the question mark, is when I clicked upon the 'ask the oracle'.

Perhaps it is not the café itself but the choices, that there are many ways open to you, an abundance of ways to get what you want?

I'm not sure because I really don't know which way to turn in this situation. However, I was really intrigued by this response, because myself and my cousin have an idea to set up a cafe, but one with a difference, as it would be a 'psychic' cafe, where people come not only for a cuppa and sandwiches and stuff, but also all kinds of readings, horary, Tarot, runes, palmistry, mediumship etc.. There are four of us in on this, all with different divinatory abilities, and this seemed to suggest that this idea could turn out well and help me get some money together. I really need a money-spinner, because I'm in bad debt as it is, and living hand to mouth at the moment.

Well, real fur is expensive, so I took this as an indication that this idea could be a success. I was quite glad to see this one.

I know. I dare say, I'm actually very good with Tarot and runes, I do believe in sortilege, I just find that I am so much better at reading pictures than words in divination. In fact - is there any such thing as a deck of cards in which the sabians are depicted graphically rather than literally? Actually, that might be quite an interesting exercise for me to undertake. Hi all,

Given that there was another terrorist attack in Egypt last night, It caused me to wonder where the next terrorist attack will take place.

So I asked the oracle.

'Where will the next terrorist attack take place?'



This symbol is eerily descriptive of a terrorist attack, and just seems to confirm that there is indeed more attacks to come, but that is obvious, and my question was where will this be. The symbol tells us that it will be 'unexpected', so will it occur in a place which has not yet succumbed to an attack, somewhere no-one would expect?

I wasn't sure what to make of this. Firstly, the fact that the owl is described as perched high up in a tree, then does this show that there will be another attack from the sky, as in September 11th? Or, does the owl in the tree symbolise the nation itself, and so show a nation which is at a high geographic altitude, and known for it's wisdom?

Well I can guess - pretty disappointed, but I think everyone guessed the outcome. Even me, alhough I never watch the news or read newspapers and I know nothing about politics whatsoever, nor do I follow what is happening in the world. But I hear people talking and catch a second of something as I switch channels. Also, I see posts here (I do read them because they are astrological).

I like fantasy, mystery, imagination or astrological and esoteric subjects ONLY!

The first half of the meaning of my post was supposed to be a joke, because obviously the "large" (which is symbolic for majority) "audience" were not disappointed because they were the ones who voted.

Thanks for the input CharmVirgo! :) I didn't really interpret them that way... Mostly because the butterfly has already emerged from it's transformation. I read it more in the way that while a butterfly is beautiful, it still has it's own flaws (one wing bigger). And while it does say that the rabbit metamorphosed into a fairy... I kinda saw it more from a shape shifting point of view. I'll have to think on that one a little more though...

I took speech classes even in college (for fun) then went on to Nursing being guided into the workforce by family (I do have a loaded 8th and Neptune in the 10th scorpio MC) I do love to challenge my normally silent nature to speak out- even though I am extremely anxious- it kinda gives me an adrenaline (I also have Aries moon).

Saturn doesn't always have to manifest as "restriction" per se, in the arena of talking, it could be self control which would be a good as well as artistic virtue, knowing when and what to say and when not to. It also gives the hard working persevering ambitious nature any performing artist needs in the fifth. Depending on "affliction", anyway.

I just got a fixed star book and it says this 16 Gemini also corresponds with Rigel --this star in Arabic meaning- "foot, support" (does anyone do this-- matching up Sabian with Fixed stars?) It says a continous battle to retain an aquired position has to be waged. true, this has always been my dangerous skill, chasing someone, bareback, unprotected, always hurt in the end. Giving myself entirely to someone, 100%, risking everything.
I see it as this answer perhaps isn't answering my questions but putting a light on my position and what am I doing here.
Circus is this life of mine in which I feel, displaying my affections is the only thing worth living. So I do it, bareback, dangerous, brave in the end.

I wish I'd have known of that one to begin with - because the interpretations come up with the oracle. I googled, but couldn't find one that lists the interpretations to the ones I posted that I did on the Astrology Weekly Sabian Symbol Oracle. Oh, well. I did do an "in general/summary" type on the Lynda Hill site -and this apparently sums up the ones I got from the other:

Another words, it answers to your true feelings about the situation or event. I tried to answer the same questions (or similar) thinking of it differently without doing it intentionally and that's when i got positive and negative answers (to speek abstractly), thinking that it doesn't really predict but rather identifies your thoughts and feelings on the subjects. Has anyone else ever noticed it? and am I right?

ps pls don't critisize harshly, i'm sensitive. i do like controversy though :)

You are quite right Sagmoon, it is a clever observation.
Yes, very often the symbol just seems to reflect what I am already thinking or already know, although it can be a revealing take from an angle I had not consciously considered - like an insight.
So that is very much what you describe.

And then if I am randomly asking questions without really wanting an answer or without really concentrating on a question, or asking the same question several times, it has given me utter rubbish.

But when I don't know the answer already, where the question has an unknown factor, I have later found that symbol to be uncannily accurate, very much so and on many occasions.

For just one example, I asked if I would get away with a really big mistake I made at work and tried to cover up, it said:
'A bomb which failed to explode is now safely concealed'
If you knew how eagle eyed my work colleague is and usually she notices everything, you would know how scared I was and it was so touch and go, I could not possibly know the answer. I was on edge the whole week.

The oracle is very good at telling me another person's attitude or feelings toward me, or warning there will be an argument, or answering a lot of other things.
And the answers can be so amusingly put that I really love this oracle! It can be quite fun reading what it gives you. It likes you if you like it.
But I don't really identify with it much all that much in connection to my chart and planets that fall on certain symbols.

One thing the oracle is not very good at is answering a load of circular questions asked quickly one after the other, with the next question about the previus one etc, as though not really believing in it or concentrating much.
It is not so good when you are obsessing over something or someone, because if you are not clear neither is the oracle and often you know the answer anyway.

Yes agree with the above, only have so far used it twice my second question deals with a court issue and I do believe I understand the answer to mean for me to stop the case. when I recieved the answer A PETRIFIED FORREST. that sounds like the issue is a dead one. I think that will be my last question for awhile. This type of thing can be addicting (to get the answer so fast) I am definatly NOT used to getting a straight answer in astrology, sometimes I wonder if I need to know the answer at all, other times I go back and forth on answers being that I am a Libra sun and Merc.

lol.. at first I didn't know how to interpret this, but then I thought about it and it makes me think of going to a thrift shop and buying something that turns out to be worth a lot of money. So basically there is a feeling of hopeless or disowning something( a part of yourself) because you thought it had no worth, only to find out that what you have is a treasure! This fits very well with the theme of some of my dreams.
