Hi all
I've been following some of the web bot predictions, and since the one about the October economic disaster came true, along with a few others, I wanted to ask a horary about the earthquake they predicted for the Pacific northwest this Dec 10-12.
'will there be an earthquake here, where I live, that wil affect me or my lifestyle Dec 10-12?"

If you think web bot is bogus then don't respond please. This is a legitimate question, and i'd like to know the answer. Although, earthquakes are hard to tell.
I think one would need to look for a Uranus aspect here somewhere. The ruler of the 4th is merc, and the moon's next aspect is to square it in Scorpio. Merc is also combust, so the 'earth' here is weak. Saturn is also in the 4th.
what about Uranus? Jupiter is translating from Uranus to that Saturn in the 4th.
Really, I'm not sure.
What do the experts say?
thanks

I read somewhere that anaretic Pluto is known to have coincided with a few Earthquakes. Since I live on the ring of fire I too am interested in your question.
Uranus is definitely one to watch for the sudden and unpredicable nature of it. Then there are the Earth signs which are to be watched. The ingress of Pluto into Capricorn should be interesting.

Barb,
With the earthquake issue, you'd really need to examine the birth chart of the place you are investigating. Also charts cast for the exact times of other significant earthquakes, in order to see what aspects repeatedly show up. I have the data of the Banda Aceh Earthquake if you are interested, but the chart is set up as an Event chart- and at first glance you'd not predict an earthquake from that chart.(ahh the benefit of hindsight).
In case you'd like to consider this data, here it is:
26/12/2004
Aceh Indonesia
12:00
7.55N 98.23E.
Asc:28pisces (interesting seeing it was followed by a tsunami)

Thanks lillygc. I've considered that, but I was wondering if a horary chart could answer the question. It should, really. Looking ahead, I see there is a Mars Uranus square on that day, and the moon triggers it into a t-square by early morning of the 12th. Have the city date, but not the time, so hard to predict the angular thing. Odds are its nothing, but found it interesting to find that uranus square in that particular date zone.

Barb,
I have looked at the horary chart. As an earthquake would be a public event, I looked to H10, ruled by jupiter. Jupiter is making/receiving positive aspects except for the brief quincunx to the moon. I dont think this chart predicts an earthquake. Maybe it would be better to set up charts for the actual days in question.

What do the experts say?
I don't know what the experts say, but if you wouldn't mind a novice taking a stab at it.... then here goes:
I would take the occurrence as 4th house, as you also did- being your "home area", which is what you asked about. Ruler of 4th is Mercury in Scorpio in the 5th, under the beams of the Sun in Scorpio, which is the ruler of the 3rd. You are the Moon in Leo, which is exactly on the cusp of the 3rd - so a strong connection to the Sun, which has Mercury under its beams.
Scorpio rules transformation, change, power struggles (isn't that what an earthquake is, in a sense? "power struggles" between the tectonic plates of the Earth?), and crisis. That seems to fit. We have the double reference of Sun ruling the 3rd and Mercury in Scorpio - which I would read as "movement" Mercury/3rd house involving transformation, change, power struggles and crisis (Scorpio) linked to 4th house matters (Mercury).
Moon(you, and maybe your family) is opposing the ruler of the 10th, in the 9th - Neptune in Aquarius, which I see as the "web-bot" (Neptune in Aquarius) prophecy (9th house). Moon moves into square Mercury first, and then the Sun. Also, co-ruler of the 4th is Chiron in Aquarius, in the 8th. Aquarius rules sudden things, and "revitalizing experiences" ( energy bound up which gets released - which again describes an earthquake). Being in the 8th, it would seem to indicate a combination of the "revitalizing experience", sudden happening, and combined with the aforementioned Scorpio qualities. The Moon is almost exactly opposing Chiron.
So, there is contact between all the significators, although timing is 6 "somethings" on the Moon/Merc square, 10 "somethings" on the Moon/Sun square, and 1 "something" on the Moon/Chiron opp. So, it sounds like it may happen, but the timing may not be exactly when predicted. (Although the Moon/Neptune opp is close - about 3 + weeks), which connects you and the prophecy.
My final analysis? Moon is on cusp of 2nd/3rd - so you may have some sensation of movement that you feel. You may see possessions(2nd house) shaking/vibrating(3rd house - movement). Or perhaps you may be in the car driving when it happens ( again combining 2nd/3rd meanings) Your kids may be with you, or you may have concern for safety of them. (Moon in Leo and POF in the 5th -which would show kids are ok, should that be the meaning of it.) Also, there may be a small tremor, followed by a larger one later, by the Moon's connection to Mercury first, then Sun.
Also, the 4th may be your physical home, maybe? The second might have to do with the land itself, because it's naturally ruled by Taurus. IF so, I would say, there is no cause to worry about your house structure. I would interpret Saturn's presence there as being a good, solid structure. Trine to Jupiter in the 7th could be the architect/builders did a good job, or that it does measure up to earthquake building codes.
Another possible explanation for Jupiter in 7th, is that he is your husband, who is at work (Jupiter rules the 6th) don't know....
Last aspect the Moon makes is a trine to Pluto in Sag in the 6th. Not sure exactly what this could represent. However, I associate the 6th with not only the health of the body, but the health of the planet. Mother Earth, being feminine, could also be the ASC, and the 6th is her health, which could show a release of energy, maybe.
Anyway, I just love to see if I can make any sense out of things, and to try to practice my skills when I can. I would be interested in any comments from other members, and also would like for you to post if anything does occur.
Thanks, barbh!

Hi Tik
Yep, thanks for that...saw that on skyscript. They didn't seem to come to any conclusions. (they are all very bright of course, but a few people on that forum ruin it for me. Their arguing can be so disrespectful and critical and downright mean that it makes me cringe! Most of them are quite nice...but I don't go there anymore as a rule. I like this forum much better!)
Lillygc
I see where you're going with that, but isn't that more for an event chart? The question was specific for me and my own lifestyle, so i'm thinking the 4th would be where I'd look.
Freedomlover - excellent delineation. That's what I think too. Don't know what 7th is, cause there is no hubby nor children, but I am due to go out to lunch with a girlfriend for her b-day on the 11th .... 5th house connotation there.
My question was also specific for Dec 10-12....so its really a yes or no question, so maybe we don't need to count degrees.
Well I guess we'll find out in about 3 weeks!!
thanks for all the input

Thanks lillyjgc.
Yep, safe and sound over here.
There actually was an earthquake in this area however, a 5.5 quake about a week ago....up on the tip of Vancouver Island, which is right over the fault line.
I never even felt it down here.
That could've been it...lets hope so. ;)

hi tik
no, not always. the last earthquake that i actually felt was more than 10 years ago. We do get lots of little teeny ones that no one ever feels, but this one was a bit bigger than most. not the prediction one i'm sure, but still significant enough for us here to take note.

look http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/
plates move all the time.. you will not feel a quake every time earth moves.
we had a quake 4 weeks ago ... i was laying in my bed .. the ground was moving... my neighbors in another building didnt even feel a thing...
it is not about what you feel or dont feel ... quakes are happening every day esp in your neck of the woods... you got Juan de Fuca plate going under North American plate at Cascadia and another spot i forget....
The stress level is at its highest as we speak. Cascadia will snap as it happend in 16th century i think.
