As many of you are aware, I have been having an identity crisis of sorts ever since I discovered my true natal data (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1256) on St. Patrick's Day. The time recorded on my birth certificate gives me an Aries Ascendant on the cusp of Pisces, but since it is nearly impossible for most hospitals to record the exact moment each baby took its first breath, I have been attempting to deduce the exact point of my Ascendant through astrological means. Radu has very generously offered me such assistance on Do I Have a Pisces Ascendant? (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1326), but he needs to know major events from my life in order to do so. I have supplied quite a few dates so far without hesitation, but now I am beginning to regret my decision.

So, my horary question is this: Is it safe for me to post this personal information on the forums?

EDIT: I have just taken a good look at this chart, and both the sun and the moon in the eighth house does not sit well with me...

P.S. Any non-astrology tips would also be appreciated. For example, do you think I should delete the thread in its entirety once Radu has helped me deduce my Ascendant?

Here's my take on this question:

Early ASC - the information on yourself is insuficient to lead to any harm.
Your significator = ASC ruler, Mercury.
Mercury angular = you have the power to remove any info at any time, you decide.
Mercury weak by sign = you feel vulnerable. However, Mercury is in its term - you like it here, you feel comfortable - the term dignity is about emotions and feelings.
The triplicity dignity is about the mental level, the information on you. Mercury is in Mars' triplicity = You think that this information might be used in a harmful way. But Mars is disposed by Mercury by sign (strongest reception), so this potential harm isn't going to take place.

Besides all Moon's applying aspects are harmonious ones, Mercury itself is aspecting the great benefic, Jupiter. Nothing bad at the horizon.

It's just that the Moon's combust (=too close to the Sun, under 8.5 deg, ruler of the 12 house) - you're afraid of potential hidden enemies. But that's it, no enemies out there.

MC on Algol - not good public impression on this chart. How about removing this thread and all the information you feel uncomfortable with? Not that you would be in any danger.

Thanks for the horary analysis, Radu! :)

Do you mean this thread or Do I Have a Pisces Ascendant (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1326)? Part of me wants to leave things the way they are so others can learn from the chart rectification process, but there's always some degree of paranoia...especially because I am younger than many members on the forum. And I'm not even sure which information I would wish to exclude!

Here's a non-astrology tip.

What matters is how you feel about it. So, if you are uncomfortable with your information posted on a public forum, simply delete it and continue with Radu on pm basis (if that's ok with you, Radu). Whenever you two feel the need to seek outside help or information, you can then post the related charts with your data blacked out.

I hope you work out this ASC issue soon. Good luck.

Absolutely!

If you feel uncomfortable then remove it. I understand that a lot of people worry about confidential information on the forum, such as blotting out place and date of birth for example on charts, but I never have, but then, perhaps I'm too open a person for my own good :? (Venus on DC).

I really wouldn't worry though Mav, I wouldn't say that this is the kind of site which is going to attract weirdo's who are going to stalk you or anything like that. Can you imagine the sheer time and effort it would take someone to try and track us down from our personal info? Who would bother?

If this was a satanist site or some kind of **** site or something like that, then there's no way I'd provide any personal info, but astrologers tend to be intelligent and rather spiritually inclined people, so I don't worry.

In any case, the horary shows you've nothing to worry about. Don't sweat it! If you still feel uncomfortable however, delete the information.

I just want to say that I hate all that posts with chart with deleted data and usually do not answer on them, because I can not put data in my astroprogram and so I can not get all nessesary data for read chart (planet dignities, fixed stars, Moon aspects and so on). So if yoy want explanation for your chart, please provide data, it is much easier for someone who want to read that chart!

I recomend you accept you time of birth from the hospital. Its regarded as one of the more accurate times by professional astrologers btw

Its quite normal to feel Agggghhhh thats not my rising sign.
Have a go & stay with it & see what comes up / develops for you

And as for privacy etc issues - just keep your astrology weekly name an anonymous one & keep away from specific detail

While I agree with you, please allow me to say this: An alternative explanation as to why professional astrologers do not usually do birth time rectification prior to analyzing this chart, is that they charge by hour and rectification is a time consuming process, that gives little in return to the client. I mean: the client the client wants as much information as possible for the least amount of money. The rectification by a professional astrologer is expensive and by itself gives no information the client asked for. Besides, as many times it is quite tricky, the astrologer feels that he/she has better uses of the last remaining neurons than spending hours trying to rectify a birth chart...

I'm sorry, fensi88...I just thought that due to the nature of my question, posting my exact location would kind of defeat its purpose.

Absolutely! it means that you are forced to use the AstroDienst chart. Without being able to enter the data into a better astrology program, it makes it more difficult to see antiscions, Arabic parts, fixed stars etc. and it would take to much time to work these things out manually.

I just give the data. It's a little paranoid to be so secretive.

All right, I'll compromise

I thought of this question at exactly 3 PM on Mar 29, 2006...I am reluctant to state exactly where I live, but if you use my birth town of Teaneck, NJ, the Ascendant will only be off by one minute. All of the planetary positions stay exactly the same.
