Why are people so into astrology these days?

This may sound like a strange question in an astrology forum but allow me to explain. A few years ago if I'd told anyone I believed in astrology and was learning about it, they would've laughed in my face and called me crazy. However, when I tell people now (these are new individuals in my life) they seem to be willing to hear me out and appear less judgemental.

This may be something that's just affecting me, but certainly in the wider world astrology seems to be growing in prominence. Astrologers are being invited on TV shows, you'll find astrologers in top department stores and forums like this are springing up all over the internet. Apparently business is booming for astrologers! So is this interest in astrology related to a growth in spirituality we have seen since the 90s? Are people becoming more fascinated with the occult as we move into the next decade?

I personally have become more spiritual since the turn of the century and have had many psychic experiences. I have become fascinated with astrology as it seems to be the only thing that has been able to explain my serendipity of late. I can't seem to find answers in religion, because for me, 'The Lord moves in mysterious ways' isn't enough and science doesn't provide me with the right answers either.

Where are you from? Personally I'm from Europe. Can tell you one thing, just about any other western place is more accepting of astrology than here. France maybe the most accepting, but there's scepticism in triplicity.

The problem is who is inspiring people towards astrology. Unfourtunately a lot of the time it is not exactly the people we would want to be doing so...

You must have heard this song: 'This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius, the age of Aquarius, Aquariussssss Aquariussss.' lol, I wish that I could sing! Someone correct me if I have this wrong, The last 2600 years or so has been the age of pisces, that would be an illusional, deceitful, living in fantasy land kind of backdrop for humanity, as the larger wheels turn, our age has , or I should say is changing from pisces to Aquarius (it goes backwards) . The peace loving "make love not war" and "if it feels good do it!" sixties was supposedly the first manifestation of the new humanitarian energy pervading the earth and ourselves. It seems correct to me, as there is a saying that says " if you remember the 60s then you wern't really there!" due to the rampant drug use. Now I remember the sixties, but was too young to procure any drugs harder than Bex (and boy did they taste like shite) , and was much too young to know what making love was, so this is mostly from what I have heard over the years. The greater cycle changing from pisces to Aquarius is still cuspal, meaning that we presently have a combination of the 2 signs to contend with (hence the drug use (neptune) and the bohemian lifestyle (Aquarius) in comparison to the super straight previous generations). This is a good time to find the truth regarding who we really are and where we come from, instead of believing what the "authorities" tell us. it is also a time to take back our power from the authorities, and demand a peaceful, sane world instead of the mess which they have left us. (Aquarius is the sign of the humanitarian). The interest in astrology and metaphysics will probably increase as people learn to think for themselves instead of relying on "expert opinion" which usually has an agenda (like controlling how the masses think) . The advent of the internet has helped tremendously here, enabling people to learn much more about our earth and those who inhabit it, and computers have enabled astrologers to spend more time learning about astrology instead of wasting precious hours working out the birthchart by hand using maths and an ephemeris. Spirituality has finally been recognised as a natural and very important part of the human condition, and as people experience spiritual events they can finally feel comfortable sharing these amazing wonders of nature with others over the net. I still keep my interest in astrology largely to myself, as I live in a community where christianity still has a strong hold on the large majority and they consider astrology to be the work of the devil , when in reality it's a natural science that is about to sprout wings!

Uranus and Aquarius are the modern rulers of astrology, Mercury is the traditional ruler. Neptune is all about a "higher reality" that could be true, or could be an illusion. Today we have Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces.

As I see it, astrology is personal - like, we all have unique charts, showing unique arrangements of the planets, which illustrate the potential for unique lives. In generations past there was not always the opportunity for people to live their lives from personal will or choice.

Unlike regular religion or even philosophy which pretty much throws us all in the mix together.

For me, I experienced a square of tr Pluto to my sun, then Pluto, then Saturn, by which time I knew there was something happening for me which was not explained by conventional wisdom. It was the answers to Why me? and Why at this particular time? which I needed to know. Astrology was able to provide these answers.

People are getting into Astrology not just to know about themselves but to properly empower oneself. The ability to create one's self image as one envisions himself/herself is fruitless. I think its great more people are into it. That means more people are opening their minds. And it is very useful so it can only benefit. The more people who get into Astrology maybe there could be more understanding of each other.
And same with me its not just Astrology :biggrin:

I remember reading about the Uranus-Neptune conjunction that belongs to my generation and how more of our generation is getting into more spiritual concepts such as psychic abilities, energy work, and astrology. A lot of people in my generation are either embracing it or fully rejecting it. (Not to mention technology being one of them)

Yes, I suppose the new energy of the age of Aquarius is causing people to look within. All of this searching and investigating is for self-knowledge.

I think many people may not necessarily turn to astrology but with the economic crisis, changes and all, people are slowing down, looking within, taking time to think and be. It's a good thing, I think. :cool:

As the Essence/soul we are energy projecting manifestation into this reality, and as such all that is manifested is our earth reality..including the cosmos of the planets and universe...ALL our projections come from within to be viewed as our outer reality including cosmic bodies. We have written the interest in the transits of the planets
Thus as Consciousness Shifts to veiw more we expand and are coming closer to recognizing we create this view of transiting planets as directional signs on our journey showing us the path of least resistance to expand all that we are...thus more interest in all that which we have created including the cosmos.
