I created this new thread to serve as an extension to the Rising Signs and Physical Characteristics Board (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1143), where we can post pictures of certain physical characteristics we possess and explore the possible astrological influences upon them.
So far, both 23 and I have posted a picture of our eyes on this board...I will upload my own picture here in order to begin discussion, but I do not feel comfortable doing this for someone else without their permission. Feel free to add to the growing collection!

Jeez, WAY too early in the morning for me to be taking pics of my eyes! LOL. Plus it's that time of the month so I'm a little of a water-retaining side - heh, we Piscean are great at retaining water (another physical characterstic  ). Maybe later. :P

Cool idea, Beth. Although I don't have a picture of me on this computer. I'll try to add one later. A few on my pictures could be found at the link in my signature.
By the way, I think that if you post a pic of your whole face I'd be able to tell if your ASC is in Aries or Pisces.

Beth, you have beautiful eyes.
Thank you! I didn't post the picture just to get compliments, though...and keep in mind these were my eyes when I was six year old. I suppose they don't really change much, though

Arian Mav - in relation to my eyes, yes I am an Aquarian. I was reading somwhere Aquarians have dreamy eyes. I have been told that I have dreamy eyes many times but I think maybe having neptune trine my asc might have an effect on the appearance of my eyes. Otherwise, I have very expressive eyes and my moods can be easily read from them. I have very happy eyes when I am happy but I can give incredibly nasty looks and express fury when I want to (asc opp pluto and moon?). I have been told that when I cry, I of course look upset but when I stop, they clear up very quickly. And here is another Aquarian's eyes, who was known to be magnetic:

Rasputin - i didn't know he was an Aqua. He does look like one though.
I always thought dreamy, spacey eyes were more associated with Neptune and Pisces, which makes a lot of sense.

heres my mug..going through a "phase" at the taking lol..anyway, Okay...I did think I had a Sag. ASC...But recently changed it to Cap after talking to Maverick.
I'm the shortest of my family, they are all 5'8+..Saturn shrunk me... Capricorn rising= greyish, "older" eyes, deeper set eyes than sister.
Mars conj. ASC= scar on face, Check!
Rasputin was a notorious monk in Russia and the parmour of Tsarina Alexandra.
I remember reading in Encyclopaedia Britannica that his birthdate was 22 Jan. Whether this is old or new style calendar, I don't know. But as far as I am concerned, he definitely has Aqu traits and must have something in Aqu - famous for corrupting and charming people. While the spirituality and monkness must be pisces or a powerful neptune which probably has been afflicted in his case.
LunarPiscean - that's what I thought too and it still might hold ground. A read a few websites a few hours ago and most comment on the dreaminess of Aqu eyes, eyes that don't quite fit a face, that seem a bit remote but not necessarily absent as well.
For example from http://www.astrologyguidance.com/sunsigns/aquarius.shtml
As it is natural for them to live on a slightly higher plane, Aquarians will tend to reflect this in their physical appearance by projecting a look of remoteness. This is especially evidenced in the eyes, which will often be dreamy or other-worldly in appearance. The eyes, in fact, may convey the peculiar Aquarian trademark of appearing to not belong to the native or of somehow seeming to not go along with the rest of the features. Consider how the crystal-clear blue eyes of Aquarian Paul Newman stand out strikingly from the rest of his features. His faraway eyes, full of an undefinable compassion, have long been his trademark, but would one expect them to go along with his otherwise rugged features and impulsive manner? Even if their appearance, behavior or mannerisms do not always show it, Aquarians' eyes will never fail to convey their true humanitarian natures.
but Pisces (from same site):
The eyes similarly, may appear to bulge with somewhat of a sleepy or dreamy expression, and in them you can get the distinct impression of wisdom, mystery or spiritual depth. For this reason, Pisces' eyes are perhaps the most beautiful in all the zodiac.
EvilPixyScorp - your eye shape is defintely scorpio to me...

I'm curious about this as well, since I've possessed long, thin "piano fingers" since I was an infant...yet my natal chart is almost exclusively Arian in all of its main influences, and I've never heard of this being a typical characteristic of the sign :?

Rasputine? Oh wow. I hadn't seen a picture of him before. He looks.. wow!
But I sort of figured that with all the corruption he caused that he must have had some strong Scorpio/Capricorn placements. People with these placements usually have a great effect on the people around them.
About the whole spacey eyes issue. Pisces eyes are dreamy giving you the impression that they're not there with you while Aquarius eyes are distant giving you the impression that you only have a part of their attention. Both are spacey though :)

8 Degrees Sag rising, Gemini Sun, Pisces Moon. Hazel eyes, auburn hair, fair skinned w/ some freckles. I think I 'fit' some of the description of a Sag rising and a lot of Gemini physical characteristics as well. I am 5'8" and athletic. Individual sports interest me more than team sports, ie; marathons, diving, hiking and so on. The Pisces physical influence escapes me though. Although, the 'emotional' aspects of having a Pisces moon is certainly in place.

Your birthday's a day before mine....although I'm 8 years younger than you. I'm a Pisces moon too (Virgo rising - I'm defintiely not 5' 8" LOL!).
You look a bit like my best pal, who's a Sag rising, and Gem-Can cusper/Scorp moon. I'm surprisesdyou don't have any Cancer planets, giving given your description of yourself. My pal's not athletic - definitely more of a Cancer homebody with a strong dislike for physical exertion, but she's a very fair-skinned redhead, with grey eyes and tall (6'). Very Cancerian in that way - the "Nicole Kidman" thing (Gem with Cancer rising). Her Gemiminess comes out more in her love of books, words and schmoozing.
Both of you have a same basic face shape, but she has more Cancerian eyes - yours are defintiely more Saggy eyes there.
ArianMav - long fingers are commonly a trait of Cancer-Cap axis, bit sometimes associated with Aqua. From my experience:
- Can/Cap influences lends to very graceful, elongated hands, feet, toes and fingers that are attractive or refined in appearence. Examples: Nicole Kidman (Cancer rising) or Jim Carrey (Cap Sun).
- Aqua influence lends to hands, toes, arms, and longs that seem "stretched" or abnormally long or thin, disproportionate to rest of the body, "knobby," or in someway odd-looking, perhaps even deformed. Examples: John Frusciante (Aqua moon - very disproportioned arms and hands. Makes for a good guitarist, I suppose) and Paris Hilton (Aqua Sun - and I don't mean to be mean, but she has pretty freaky looking ankles and hands.)
23 - there seems a bit of fuzziness here. But to me "remoteness" which I'd associate with Aqua, isn't the same as "spacey" which I associate with Pisces. However, I'm sure others may disagree.
As for Rasputin's birthdate, it seems widely disputed. I googled it an came up with anythign from 1864 to 1872, from Jan 10 to June 17! So I suppose we just don't know. He was born in a small village in Siberia in abject poverty - I doubt they managed to keep an accurate record of his birth. Add to this the man was notorious for lying about himself to increase his mysique. Other mystical frauds have lied about their birthdate to give themselves a more astrologically impressive chart - I wouldn't put it past Rasputin to have done the same.

Lunar Pisces,
you are right about Rasputin's birthdate. Some time ago I got one his most recent biographies (2004 or so) written by a russian historian using newly found archival material. I have read that there were different opinions about his birth-date, which was not taken by anyone. His parents were illiterate, and he was-semiliterate and had a very uncertain, childlike handwriting.

Perhaps, because I can think of no other explanations for my delicate hands and feet...I just measured my left hand's middle finger from the "crease" above my palm to its tip, and it measured more than seven centimeters! I wish I had a digital camera so I could take a picture of my hands and post it here :?
Arian Maverick
Well I suppose Mars in Gem might have some effect on appearance. I too have Mars in Gemini.
yes, anything airy I think should increase finger lengths. Gemini more probably because they are dainty and thin by nature giving the impression of long fingers. Maybe Pisces because it is artistic might simply produce artistic looking fingers (Look at Kurt Cobain's fingers).
Then you've got someone like Abraham Lincoln, dob Feb 12, 1809)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_lincoln
who (supposedly) suffered from Marfan Syndrome, extreme height and long limbs.
Otherwise, we can write of Rasputin, I tried :)

Hmm, I have 4 personal planets in air signs, plus an Uranus singelton and a air grand trine. My finger adn toes are not long nor am I tall. I know people keep saying Gems and Aquas are tall, but sorry, I don't see it. Sag and Cap, followed by Cancer have been - based on my experience and chart reseach - have been the most consistant indicators of height. Aquas seem to often give the "illusion" of height (did you know Paul Newman's only 5'9"? He seems a lot taller than that yes? LOl!), and Gems are typically pretty average in heights (Kylie Minogue, who's 5'2", and Prince, who's 5'4", arem't exactly statuesque, for example - neither are I, 5'5", or my mom, 5'4", and we're both Gems too). Libras seem to vary a lot.
Pisces - regularly associated with shortness, including in limbs and digits. Often hands and fingers, as well as rest of the body, are wide, even plump. As for Kurt Cobain, he did have a Cancer moon, but he was actually very short, 5'6". To the eyes of the public, he seemed "well-built" which was hardly the case! He was not only short, but had a curved spine that slumped his shoulders (bad posture is another Piscean trait) and was chronically underweight due to G.I. problems (Virgo rising). But despite that, you could still see the Piscean "widening" effect on his short frame - his face and shoulders had pretty good width for his height (added to his media attractiveness - had he been chubbier it would have been more obvious and he less photogenic). His hand and feet were fairly broad as well. Being a guitarist myself, I can tell for pictures of him playing guitar, his fingers may have look big on his tiny body, he had relatively thick fingers with stubby, rounded fingertips - classic Piscean, just like my fingers.
However, Cobain did have Pluto and Uranus conjunct his ASC: as I mentioned above about Aqua, Uranus on the ASC seems to cause disproportion in limbs too, which seemed as the case with Cobain. While I don't see his fingers being very slender or long relatively, his arms were definitely too long for his overall frame - very much like RHCP guitarist John Frusciante, who's a Pisces-Aqua. In Frusciante's case, he has more Aquaish traits, although likewise isn't very tall (probably no more than 5'9").

I didn't know Lincoln had Marfan syndrome, although that "knobbiness" I mentioned about Aqua is pretty obvious in Lincoln. I'll see if I can find a estimated chart or borthtime for ehim. I am looking for Rachmaniniff's chart too - he reportedly had hands and fingers that grew continuously throughout his life. Such bones diseases are often indicated by Capricorn or Saturn, especially if afflicted. Rachmaninoff was born April 1, 1873 (Gregorian).
EDIT: I found this: Lincoln's chart (http://www.near-death.com/images/graphics/new_age/astrology/lincoln/2_lincoln_natal_chart_big.gif) but I don't know how theyconfirmed that birthtime. However, he does have Cap moon and and according tot his birthtime, Saturn in Sag squaring his ASC. He also has Mercury in Pisces rising - a very intriguing placement. Very delibitated there, esp with Nep and Sat squaring. May indicate a neurological problem or mental illness, and even negative psychic experiences. In lIncoln's case, maybe all of the above! Lincoln reportedly had severe depression and premonitions of his death - as for neurological condition I don't know, although some have speculated that he was a learning disorder, and those are typical neurological in nature.
I don't think Aqu are particularly tall although my dad-in-law is very tall and he is Aqu but so are all the other non-Aqu siblings. I agree, the Sags that I do know are pretty tall but Cancerian, all I know are quite short, with the exception of a crazy 6'5 giant cancerian. Geminis on the other hand, aren't tall but are mostly petite or downright short. All the ones that I know are like that (tiny, babyfaced, youthful, button noses) except my partner.
Lincoln, although tall, was known for his very long and stretched limbs limbs and lankiness.
Kurt Cobains fingers - not necessarily the thinnest, I agree) and the photos that I have found, his hands are massive and makes his fingers look like tentacles. And yes he did have long arms. I thought he was highly attractive (in a non-sexual way), highly angelic and feminine and other worldly with those piercing blue eyes. Very thin, probably due to drug probs though.

1200PM probably's just a estimated time. That probably isn't reliable. I haven't found that site very reliable in the past. Ramaninoff looks lieka Taurus rising to me - if that was true (and don't trust me on that), that would also square his Saturn with his ASC. Hmm.... As it stands, though, it look like it would have been possible for his Saturn to be a singelton by house, although we can't confirm that.

I'll keep searching for Rachmaninoff, but you're right re appearance, I don't see any leo features in the face. It would lend to personal planets being in Taurus giving his appearance. Yes, very much. Water signs in general seem to be short, earth signs average, and fire signs... this one is a bit problematic because even though most of them seem rather short or average, for some reason sagittarians tend to be tall. :? Could have something to do with Jupiter(expansion, growth, etc.)? :?

Well I would say (from a novice that I am) that each planet will have an effect on your appearance but then it would be a matter of classifying the relative strength of each one. Because sun is the primary planet in everyone's chart, that would have the most impact with everyone. But then again, depending on what sign the planets are in would have an impact. For example, a mars in aries (and coincidentally the first house) would have a greater impact than venus on your appearance I would say because mars rules Aries but venus is the ruler of libra (and taur) and would be in detriment and would hence have a greater effect. Plus sun is exalted in Aries so it would be stronger in its effect on your appearance than other planets I would say. Also, since everything is in Aries, it just would make you look like an Arian (as all point to being in Aries!)
http://groups.msn.com/HOROSCOPESCHAT/rulersdignities.msnw
For the more experienced out there, does a detriment of a falllen position only weaken the influence of a planet or does it add to a more "negative appearance"? (or is negative aspects to a planet required for ugliness?)
Oh and here is a picture of my hand and hair, note the red tinge in my hair, Aries rising and probably Sag venus. Otherwise, I have Aqu sun/merc, Libra moon
Btw, you might notice that my fingers aren't back that much. I've got rather inflexible hands, I can't bend my fingers past my palm. The inflexibility of Aqu showing?

At first I uploaded a pic of my eyes, then I deleted it. I am absolutely paranoid about uploading one’s pics on the internet (I also have Jupiter in 8th trining my Sun in 12th so there you go….secretiveness!) in case somebody who knows me professionally happens to browse this forum and finds out one of the things I do in my private life. After all most Virgoans are a bit like Dr. Jackhill and Mr. Hyde.
So I decided to upload my chart and to give a description of myself instead. It is not like posting one’s picture, but it will do. Sometimes I use this method to delineate a natal chart. This is because planetary placement by sign and house that have a visible influence on the body or on the health of the native will be stronger than those that don’t. Also, I have found it useful to understand how a chart works when I have to look at the transits.
http://www.publicupload.com/files/mine.gif
I have most of the physical characteristics of a Virgoan with Virgo rising. Hence I have a small frame and I am well proportioned, with generally a Mercury look. Although I am 30 I look younger. Most of the people I meet tend to think I am a college student. The skin is slightly tan (Sun and Venus in earthy sign) and I am slim (Mercury is in the first house). Features are rounded, and this is signalled by the MC in Taurus an also the Moon in Pisces. The Moon in Pisces sometimes makes me look literally shell-shocked or absent or even stupid.
Venus conjunct the Ascendant gives me a small stature (157 cm /5ft 1’) and a rounder, rather than a skinnier appearance.
Venus (hair) conjunct the AC and square Mars results in this case in wavy hair.
Mars very high – rising or otherwise prominent – in a chart normally gives curly hair, and it can be red, if Mars is in certain signs. Mine is in Gemini, but receives a square from Sun in 12th and Venus in fall and retrograde in an earthy sign, therefore the hair (Venus) is dark brown, but with auburn highlights. Mars culminating or strong in a chart also gives fiery eyes.
Mars (muscle tissues) in Gemini (arms and hands) results in the following: lean and slightly muscular arms (apply this to the arms of a woman) and firmness of the muscles in general. Also, Mars in this position can indicate a tendency to get wounds the arms and the hands, so I have multiple, almost invisible small scars on them.
The hands (Mercury, signs of Mercury and planets in them) are small, soft and dry. Fingers are of a normal length.
Jupiter (expansion, abundance) in Aries (head) acts on the hair, so with this placement I have plenty of hair. Saturn in Cancer, retrograde and detrimented, can cause problems with the nails, the bones or the teeth, and hard parts of the body in general. In various cases if you find a Sun-Saturn opposition you can tell that the native has very bad teeth. In my case, Saturn is squared both by Jupiter and Uranus, so from time to time I have to run to the dentist because I get nasty inflammations (Mars culminating). The Moon – exalted in Pisces, gives a very delicate skin in this case, and the skin it is also paler than it would normally be, given the country I was born in of course.

P.S. Since you seem quite knowledgable in this area, I ask you this: what astrological placements may indicate long fingers?
blumen
03-27-2006, 05:53 PM
Mav,
I am not that knowledgeable about astrology. There are still many things I need to learn. Also, I believe there is no fixed rule in astrolgoy. If you want to know how the native's fingers look like, in my opinion you should consider the following elements in a chart:
1. The planet having rulership over the fingers: Mercury
2. The sign having rulership over the fingers: Gemini
How shall we look at these indicators?
First, we must look at where Mercury is. Having found the sign where Mercury is, we must apply the physical symbolism of the sign to the part of the body ruled by Mercury. Fingers, in your case. (But also other parts of the body and organs, such as arms, lungs etc.)
Then, the aspects casted/received by Mercury will give you further details about this part of the body.
Also, repeat the same process, this time starting from the sign symbolizing the fingers, Gemini, and analyzing the planets you find in Gemini.
When planets are evenly spread in different signs, this is quite easy to do. When in a chart there is just one big stellium, or most planets form stellia, it is a lot more difficult. But in this case, I normally refrain from using this method and employ another technique to understand how the chart works,

I have my natal Mercury involved in a tight stellium with the Sun and Venus in Aries in my first house...therefore it shares a conjunction with each of these planets. Mercury's next tightest aspect is a sextile to Mars in Gemini, which has a one degree orb; it also makes a loose square to Saturn (three degree orb) and Neptune (four degree orb), both located in my tenth house of Capricorn.
I do not know much about the physical characteristics of Aries except that it rules the head and may incline a person to have a reddish tinge to their skin and/or hair, especially if its ruler Mars is exalted there. However, as I mentioned before, my natal Mars is located in my third house of Gemini, which leads me to the next part of my post...
Also, repeat the same process, this time starting from the sign symbolizing the fingers, Gemini, and analyzing the planets you find in Gemini.
Mars is basically unaspected in my natal chart with the exception a double inconjunct received from Saturn (two degree orb) and Pluto (one degree orb). Jupiter, also located in Gemini but in my second house, makes a perfect square with my twelfth house North Node in Pisces; it also makes an inconjunct aspect (one degree orb) to my natal Uranus and loosely sextiles my Ascendant (three degree orb).
When planets are evenly spread in different signs, this is quite easy to do. When in a chart there is just one big stellium, or most planets form stellia, it is a lot more difficult. My chart consists of two main stelliums--one involving my inner planets in Aries and the other involving my outer planets in Capricorn--but fortunately, Mars and Jupiter are somewhat spread apart in Gemini and my eighth house Pluto singleton in Scorpio provides some much-needed energy on the left side of my chart. Hopefully, I will still be able to employ your methods...
Thank you! :D

I have mars in gemini and a scar on my left palm, howzat! and some good aspect to merc such as jupiter sex and pluto trine. Don't think they add much to the appearance of my hands.
Otherwise mercury in Aqu, conj sun and opposed by saturn.

Jupiter sex?
Hehe AM, I was laughing right along with you.....maybe it's just our age - perhaps we still have some of that "youngin' immaturity"? We shall see if anyone else finds "Jupiter sex" amusing.
And that whole long/slender hands/fingers thing is quite simple for me, as I have Mercury in Gemini in the 3rd :D . I would take a closer look at it, but it's getting late, I have school tomorrow (oh, how I look forward to my spare though!), and I'm basically running on a caffeine high (but a tea one at that).
Hmm, the eye thing has me thinking though, as I am a late Aquarius rising (26 degrees, if my mother is right - AM ever since you found out your real birth data, it's had me paranoid that my mom was wrong also), with all 30 degrees of Pisces in the 1st. Maybe my eyes are some sort of combination or something. They are green with gold flecks, and have a largeness to them, but I still can't completely distinguish whether they are Piscean or Aquarian. Maybe I'll post a picture of them sometime soon, but I am a little paranoid of having my picture out there......maybe I can find a baby pic of them.
Jupiter sex - when you have a jolly good romp but then your partner crushes you.
I was wondering that because pisces rules skin and pisces ruler is Neptune that the reason why I get bad eczema is because I have neptune opposed mars. This might explain the inflammation of skin.

Yes, and if I am not wrong Neptune rules allergies as well. Check also the Moon and see if it casts hard aspects to either Neptune or Mars.

Hi all,
I was wondering that because pisces rules skin and pisces ruler is Neptune that the reason why I get bad eczema is because I have neptune opposed mars. This might explain the inflammation of skin
Yes, and if I am not wrong Neptune rules allergies as well. Check also the Moon and see if it casts hard aspects to either Neptune or Mars.
Sorry to steer off track here but I found this discussion interesting.
I am terribly allergic to cats. They make give me terrible eczema if my skin comes into contact with cat fur, and if the fur subtance, whatever it is, gets into my eyes, then I'm in real trouble, they'll swell up so much I can hardly see and they get terribly itchy and watery.
I had wondered where skin allergies might be in my chart, and I find the Moon, Neptune and Mars to be probably significant.
My Moon is in Leo, the feline sign, in the 6th house of health disorders and also small animals. I think this might say something about my allergy, but the Moon is also square from Mars in my chart, and Mars has packed a good punch to the Moon as it is conjunct Uranus, and has great power being in it's domicile and triplicity of Scorpio.
I have Neptune, right upon the MC, so it dominates my chart, and Neptune also aspects the Moon by trine.
I think these could be indicators of my allergy, my Moon in the cat sign in the house of cats and allergies, coming off a punishing and powerful square from a Uranian Mars, giving rashing, irritation and itching. I'm not sure quite why Neptune would rule allergies, I'd go for the Moon, but if it does, then it's trine to my Moon and conjunction to the MC can't help. : (
Why does Pisces rule the skin? I cannot come to a logical deduction as to why this would be. What is your justification for this association? Perhaps Neptunes association came from the association with Pisces. While I accept the outer planets as having some astrological effect, I strongly disagree with them having rulership of any signs.
I have always had extremely sensitive skin, and I think the Moon might have a lot to do with this.
Mav,
Unfortunately I am without a scanner too - although I wouldn't up for scanning my face anyway! :? That might look rather strange.
I am sure that photo's on mobile phones can be brought up onto a computer but I have no idea how to do this. Probably by texting the picture to a certain address or something, or connecting the phone with the computer somehow, I have no idea.
I imagine in the future, it will probaly commonplace to have a live moving picture of yourself in the corner rather than an avatar.
I will send a pic when I find out how I can.
Draco
Draco - I think any affliction of neptune might suffice for eczema. I'm not sure how the moon is related though, but your Moon square Mars might have an impact. After all, mars is about anger, heat, red, hot, aggravation etc.
My moon is in positive relationship to neptune (sex) and mars (trine).

My Ascendant is Gemini, and I have rather long arms, "air hands" (long palms, long fingers), my eyes go from grey to green to blue. So, that makes sense.
I'm quite thin though, even now at my "heavy" weight of about 93lbs., so I would say my rising sign does very much reflect how I look. :)

:D I do count myself very lucky. I've had a strange appetite lately though, either wanting to eat a lot or nothing. It could have to do with my messed up sleep schedule; I haven't been able to sleep due to a restless mind, my Mercury is in Pisces and my Moon is in Gemini, so I feel like I cannot use any logic, and instead of having thoughts I have feelings, when thinking to myself, and yet I have no patience with my feelings because of my annoyed Gemini Moon. So I'm slow and I have no patience with myself *rolls eyes*. I love my chart but my ambundance of Gemini and ambundance of Pisces are definitely at war with each other often. So it makes me take sleeping pills. Lol.

Astrodatabank says, with regard to Rasputin's data:
'Lina Accurso writes on 2/1998 that she saw an A&E biography on 11/25/1997 in which Rasputin's church records read January 10, 1869 (OS). Filipe Ferreira quotes BBC-Timewatch documentary of 6/08/1994, "The Real Rasputin," which showed a recently discovered birth record with the information of January 10, 1869. Ferreira wrote to the Rasputin Museum asking if a time is known, but there was no answer. The same date is given in Edvard Radzinsky's "Rasputin: The Last Word," Phoenix, London, 2000, pp 30-32 (copy in LMR files). Becky Altschuler writes, " Grigory Efimovich Rasputin was born in the Tyumen district of the province of Tobol in the village of Pokrovskoe...... A census of the residents of the village of Pokrovskoe was found in the Tyumen archive, and appearing next to the name Grigory Rasputin in the column for 'year, month, and day of birth' is the date 10 January 1869." Book notes this is the day of Saint Grigory for whom he was named. This is from Edvard Radzinsky "The Rasputin File," Doubleday, 2000. pp. 24-25. A notation in the front of the book states that all dates are from the Old Style calendar."'
So, yes, Sun and Mercury in Aquarius by the looks of things, with Mercury squared by a Moon/Pluto conjunction in Taurus, and sextile with Neptune (which is also conjunct Jupiter) :D

When I visited my local Barnes & Nobles about week ago, I was browsing through a book about Rising Signs and read that Rasputin had an Aries Ascendant...I admit that I was a bit skeptical, though, as I have not yet seen any reputable source verify an accurate birth time.

I have actually added one of my photos to Astrofaces and it is under the Sun Taurus Moon Taurus part. There are only 3 people there with Sun/Moon Taurus and Leo rising. I'm the one in the middle. The lady to my left has similar eyes to me but isn't smiling so it's hard to tell if her eyes do what mine do when she smiles.
Anyway, I'll try to add a picture here - another techno-challenge, lol! :D
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y300/Lou67/2704051alou.jpg
I have a big mouth when I smile - often wondered if that's something to do with having Jupiter rising. I have dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, which fit with Taurus, but have never put weight on. I'm 5ft 8 and very slim. My skin colouring has a yellowish tinge to it. I'm also supposed to look quite young for my age (according to other people) - I'm nearly 39.
Apologies if the pics are a bit big :?
I'm still not sure why it is that I don't put weight on as far as astrological signatures are concerned - Jupiter is meant to do that, as is Taurus. Shouldn't I be huge? Lol! All I can think is that it may be a nervous energy thing? I have Uranus/Pluto in Virgo closely trine Mercury and the Sun in Taurus. Mars also quincunx Mercury.

Speaking of "interesting" parts of the chart, like the ascendant and how it affects your appearance... I'm only like intermediate when it comes to astrology, for instance I just started really looking into the meanings of the aspects that I have... Like, Su conjunct Ve (in Pisces) is why I insist on wearing make up all of the time, and now that I know this, I've backed off of myself where concerns my appearance.
Is there any specific thing I should look at to find out why I constantly feel guilty for everything that I do (literally everything I do), beyond just being a Piscean, as I know many Pisceans can sometimes blame others for everything, I have a tendancy to blame myself for even things I cannot control, if this isn't TOO far off topic, is there any certain area of my chart that I might want to look at for answers as to why this is?
If you want to PM me to keep this board closer on topic than I'm making it, that would be great, if you have advice.

I hope this is acceptable as I have no other photos of me on this computer or uploaded in an archive.. My astrological triumvirate is Aries-Cap-Gem. My Cap is on 0 degrees, so.. I tend to have my Sagittarian moments as well as Capricorn's.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a123/sweepstrings/100_0012.jpg
I feel like this photo captures, pretty much universally of my typical disposition and expression. Moon in detrimental Capricorn. :P Sort of the snobby indifference look, which is something many of my friends, family members and people often really believe that I am! Now I know how those poor Scorpio ascendants feel, those pokerfaces. :P And true to appearances, my hands are quite Geminian. Draco and 23, I have eczema as well. It really depressed me for a while that my favorite "body part" was irritatingly itchy, chapped and old looking... Likewise, as an Arian I genuinely abhor acrylic(anything fake) nails for my Gemini hands. You can see just how vain I am with something so silly :P
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a123/sweepstrings/myhands.jpg
The rest of my body is rather Taurean, the curvy earth-woman kind. I envy those certain Taureans who can just eat eat and eat and never look like they gained a pound. (Mars in Taurus here) :]

Interesting thread: of late I've been wondering about the link between Astrology and appearances.
For exmaple I'm a Taurus, and I've always had people point out that I've got an impressive adam's apple (although personally I don't find it to be that big).
But of late I've noticed that certain types of girls I find cute tend to have certain signs, notably Aquarius and Cancer, they just tend to have certain physionomies which to me makes them stand out from other women.

Oh well, for the hell of it.
This one's 5 years old (what can I say: I prefer taking pictures of other people), I think I was supposed to be a cowboy...
http://www.publicupload.com/files/Sanem.JPG (http://www.publicupload.com)
The eyes and the adam's apple are the most obvious to me. I figure they're both Taurus, but I'm guessing my Cancer/Moon is also in my eyes.
Also a thing is that my right eye looks more friendly than my left eye. I've once had an expert in physionomy tell me that I have a "Mars/Apollo" contrast in my eyes, which I guess means my right eye is Cancer, my left Aries.

Here is me!
Sagittarian in appearance, I think. I looked at the description for cancer rising, and I'm not impressed, "The arms may have a crab-like motion; legs tend to be short and stocky"....indeed!
While I am here, I will mention that I have one finger missing, cut off at after the first knuckle. It's my index finger on the left hand (I am right handed) An encounter with an excercise bike and my twin brother left me this way!! Does that finger have any special significance, apart from being necessary to play musical instruments?!
So, mercury rules the fingers...I do have mercury square mars in the third house....hmm
First pic is me at my sister's wedding
second one is myself and an astro twin - same actual birthdate, different rising sign (not sure what hers is) doing the karaoke together!
Third one is me in the middle, where I belong :D
And lastly, me having dinner with my class in South Korea.
Hope you like photos, I got a bit enthusiastic!

I do. I read that blue eyes indicate either a water sign rising either a water sun sign. Since of all planets only Pluto is in a water sign, this could indicate the Pisces ASC.

I used the Windows default picture editor "Paint" to add the circles. If you are using windows XP, you can find Paint under Start>All Programs>Accessories.
To add the text, I used Adobe PhotoShop. I have the CS version.
Actually, if you have Windows XP, right clicking any image would show you a bunch of options containing all the picture editing programs installed on your computer.

Another one here with a scar in the palm! Mars/Taurus/3rd, in the house it rules.
About an inch long, coming down between index and middle fingers. Was about 5 years old, family outing to the zoo, dad was feeding peanuts to this towering ape/gorilla/simian thing in its barred enclosure, dad gave me one little peanut to do as he did, totally petrified me slowly inched - millimetred - the peanut forward towards the bars.
The THING was standing about 5 feet away staring at me, next thing.......its huge arm lunged-swiped at my hand, little me screamed my lungs out and pulled back my hand, held my hand palm downwards.....then people started shouting, there was blood on the ground!
What followed was even worse, the ambulance, came, we all got to the hospital, and, with 5 people holding me down because I was screaming and struggling, they stitched me without anaesthetic! Gruesome!
I think the Asc is involved too somehow. My Asc would have progressed to 0° Pis (hospitals), squaring 0° Sag MC (zoo, large animals, outdoors). Fortunately it was sextile the natal 3rd Hse Mars, could've been worse.
Well, there IS something Gemini in there after all - the 5s. I was 5 years old, it was 5 feet away, 5 people had to hold me down! Can't remember, but it must have been 5 stitches too!
So, with that story, you all know my Ascendant now.

What sign influence would lend to longer than average fingers & toes?
Or "monkey toed" people who pick up stuff off the floor with their feet instead of bothering to bend down? lol
Gemini-Rising usually gives beautiful hands/ long, thin fingers.
Gemini-Rising can also have thin, well-formed limbs in general.
Pisces-Rising is said to influence the feet: like either pretty feet or swatted feet.
Mars can also lend a that slim and long look in general.
A few tips for aries AC identification:
* The occasional double arched eyebrows like the McDonalds symbol
* The jaw line - both men and women have prominent jaws. Women have a triangular jawline such that it goes in under the mouth and the expands slightly in a point. Men have heavy jaws, very square. On the side where the mandible starts and connects to the rest of the face, the jaw angle is very square and defined - tends to be more prominent in the leo decanate
* Slightly longer and thinner face. The face reminds me of the comedy-tragedy masks in shape where the bone just under the eye juts out slightly and then above the eyes, the forehead will be tapered in. Forehead can be high or low.
* Eye colour varies but I have noticed that eyes tend to be darker. There's a certain sharpness to them that I can't really describe. I think the eyes can be mildly long and at the top of the eye on the inner side there is a mild crease (not as prominent as leo ac to give almond eyes) that leads to a long tapering of the eye to the outer edge. Look of eye is very direct and confrontational.
* Teeth I don't think are large as such but tend to be quite long I noticed - eg Errol Flynn, Donnie Wahlberg
* Broad shoulders and narrow hips regardless of gender and tendancy to athletic build - eg Elle McPherson.
* Can be prominent in height
* look also for acne on face and back and big pores.
The example picture that Radu has on the main website of an aries person is a good example of maybe Aries AC.

^^ Your eyes are absolutely gorgeous! I don't think these rising signs mean much when it comes to other ethnicities though.
The OP's eyes look like they were taken when he/she was a 3-year-old!

Well, I wasn't quite three years old--I believe it was closer to six or seven when that picture was taken--but it was the only full-color photo I had at the time in which my eyes didn't appear red
And I agree, your eyes are "perfect," unperfectlyperfect--a beautiful aquamarine. Do you have a prominant Uranus or Neptune, by any chance?
