Hi everyone

I am ashamed to say, I have forgotten so much mythology. Can anyone recommend any good books, please? Even general purpose kiddides books ! Anything as a starting point. It's hard to put a PC under your pillow. I like Books :D

A general purpose myth site would do, too. I can print off and read in ....

Thanks

Hi Hel141. Joseph Campbell is your guy. I saw a portion of his PBS special some years back and it was terrific. Here is a link to that but his books are also linked there - I have not read them but I also feel a drive towards reading them at some point. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005MEVQ/qid=1143036469/sr=8-2/ref=pd_bbs_2/103-1309721-7867818?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=130

Another book I really like that combines Astrology with Mythology is - Mythic Astrology - Archetypal Powers in the Horoscope by Ariel Guttman & Kenneth Jonnson 1993.

The first part has chapters on each of the planets plus Gaia, Moon's Nodes, Ceres, Pallas, Juno, Vesta, Chiron. The second part of this book has chapters on the Zodiac, Elements, Modalities, and a chapter on each of the 12 Signs. All with the ancient myths woven through each chapter. It's a really helpful book with great info about all the ancient 'Gods/Goddess' and much more.

Hi

The best mythological books r Geeta, Vedas, Upanishads & yoga sutras. These books r best because these were created when there were no different religions were here. So these books r best for every human being for living a happy & prospers life. No matter in which religion one took birth. Rig-Veda is known as the oldest mythological book of the world. These books give fully knowledge of every part of the life like health, spirituality, music, medical, meditation, war, architecture, astrology, family planning, to give birth to child, food, etc. These books describe every system for human life from birth to death.
