Hello once again,
a friend of mine is in pretty bad debt and wants to use their skills in writing to make a really good book and hopefully get ahead; they asked me the question:
`` will this book make me money?"
well they are jupiter in the tenth, focus on success? they are in fall, yet only a few degrees away from dignity by face--their also dignified by being in an angular house, right?
the quesited book itself is venus, money from the book is mercury. the book is sitting in a strong house in libra, strongly, a very nice placement and representation for a creative writing no!? merc applies in conjunction with the book, which looks good. the querent's finances are also conjunct the book and book-money. all these planets are trine with the moon... this looks good to me, but does the fact that the trine is separating mean anything bad?
i suppose looking to the midheaven would be important as well, which is sextiling moon, book, bookmoney, and the querent's money. the moon is only one degree from having dignity in aquari that it doesn't like....
based on the aspects and placements I would say yes? and it looks like it could be a good amount, also, PoF is also sextiling mer, ven, and mars. haha... does the strong venus mean the book could be very long too? :P
if we used modern rulers neptune is also apply-trining these 3 planets which I think would be good and conjunct the moon which rules creativity... that h12 just ain't so very nice..
i think the saturn on the 5th from the 3rd cusp could mean that it will take a while to finish or restrictions on creativity? meaningless to the outcome but just a thought. funny because they were thinking about including controversial things but would probably not get them published--uranus opposed saturn? :O

It always amazes me that people overlook the Moon's being Void of Course.:p
We can take Mars, 9th ruler or the 5th house ('creative endeavours') to be the book.
Jupiter placed in fall in the 10th house does indeed place the focus on success; that Jupiter is in the sign of Mars' exaltation speaks of very high expectations that Mars will 'come through'. Mars also rules the 2nd house of money...here again we see the connection between Jupiter and Mars. Mars is in detriment in Libra: yuck!
Alas, the Moon is in an unfortunate house and a peregrine sign, and besides that has passed any relevant aspect. The Moon is very close to a conjunction with Neptune, ruler of fantasy and illusion. The Moon cannot help the querent.
This is all nothwithstanding the fact that it doesn't appear the querent has actually written a book yet; writing a book is no small endeavour, and getting it published is more difficult than people think. Getting it published and having it make the querent some money will be even more difficult. I have family members who have published books; it's no small feat.
The short answer is 'no', Ra. Tell them to get a 2nd job and stop using their credit cards, instead.;)

hi, AG
it's not overlooking, maybe it's because they, or I more accurately cannot always tell when it is void of course.
furthermore, telling someone to stop using their credit cards is rude AG and unnecessary to the interepretation. there are many other ways of being in debt besides spending excessively on credit cards.
writing books and getting published is easier than you think. if it wasn't true, I wouldn't see so many books by amateur writers being successful.
anyway I will tell them to consider asking the question when they prepare enough of the manuscript to send off to publishers.
by the way, how is the moon VOC when it's making seven major aspects?

Ra, surely you can see that I was joking about the credit cards, although actually it's not bad advice. You can send your friend here instead:

As someone with 72,000 dollars worth of student loan debt and credit card bills in two countries, I am not unsympathetic, believe me. But getting out of debt requires a certain amount of discipline, which not many of us have.
Anyway:

I have worked in the publishing industry, and with published writers. I know people who have 1. written books that sell very well 2. people who have written small 'chap' books that sell reasonably well but for not much money 3. people who have written what they think is a very interesting book but could not find anyone to publish it. There are far, far more of #3 than the other two. If people want to self-publish books, they can; but it costs money and there's no guarantee that anyone will buy the book. Selling a hundred copies to your friends and families won't put bread on the table. It has to be a good book, and not just 'good' because the author thinks it's good. All authors think their own books are good. This is why finding a publisher is so important, so the book can be edited correctly. This is also why finding a publisher is so difficult; they take only the best of the best of the best. Unless you're already a famous writer, of course, and then you can churn out drivel as you like.

I don't see where you're getting seven major aspects. The Moon is at 20 degrees Aquarius. It has passed three trines with the cluster of planets in Libra. It applies to conjoin Neptune, which in horary isn't considered a major planet, and I wouldn't want any of my significators applying to Neptune anyway, since it means 'rose-coloured glasses' (see paragraph above). It makes no further aspects for a long, long time, and this is what makes it void of course. Application to a sextile of Pluto also doesn't count.
It's actually one of the first things one should look for in a chart, as it suggests an endeavour that will be very difficult to get off the ground, especially in the 12th house.
Deb Houlding calls the moon the 'transmitter of influences': it holds the energy, thrust and drive of a question; a void Moon in a weak sign in the weak 12th house would suggest that this question may not leave the 'idea' stage. Even if it weren't void, it would be a challenge for the querent with the Moon in such a state.

Sorry, I often take jokes as not being jokes sometimes, my bad.
I see what you're saying though.
They were telling me that writing it is hard because of them wanting to get every paragraph to perfection. Seeing how you said it is a long time before the moon makes aspects again then I would take it to mean that they have a lot of work to do on the book before thinking about such things, and the conjunction of neptune could be the dreaming part of the end result before really working on their book enough.
Thanks as always, though
Raya
