I have only crossed those terms in horary.....does use of this refine natal and predictiv e readings? How would it add to an interpretaion? the strength of the contact? or its impact on the indvidual reading. Would transits be altered by ia planets dignity/debility? Learn something new everyday!Cassandra

Dignities and debilities of the Planets in Nativities are very important aspects. They show the strength of the Planets. If one has for example, Mars Lord of the second, in Aries, it will show that the strength of their riches gained will be greater than if someone were to have Mars in Taurus will show they will spend their money just as easily as it is made, if they have any money at all to begin with (Mars shows wasters of things..in the 2nd House case, money). Now if you would like to know if your enemies will be stronger than you, look to the dignities of the Lord of the Ascendant, and the Lord of the 7th. If the Lord of the 7th (or 12th for secret) is more dignified than the Lord of the Ascendant, then your enemies will triumph over you (for example, if you get into a legal case, you will lose). If however, the reverse is true, you will supercede your enemies depending on how strong your dignity is. If the dignities are equal, neither will win, and most likely both will lose. These are just a few brief examples of dignity in Natvities. There are a lot more uses as well.

Thanks! I have mostly ignored my natal chart as it did not have a lot of meaning to me predictive wise so I think I will take a second look! Gosh ....So in my natal chart mars and venus (rules of first/seventh) are conjunct at 7 degrees in leo in the fifth....they are both peregrine but accidently mildly dignified in the fifth so no one wins:) Can you point me in the direction of readings? I have not crossed this up to this point and it sounds like more old astrology vs modern. Thanks again.
