Hey Saggies! Mars going to be in Taurus(our house of true love and work) for 6 months! Get ourselves ready for the zesty fiery impact of Mars!! LOL!! It's our turn to have some positive opportunities in work and love sectors!! Hooray!
Mars' Agenda in Taurus
July 28 - Mars enters in Taurus (at 1:11 am EDT)
Oct 1 - Mars turns retrograde at 23.22 Taurus
*** Mars retrograde ***
Dec 10 - Mars turns direct at 8.14 Taurus
Feb 17 - Mars leaves Taurus, entering in Gemini
"Mars in Taurus strengthens the practical side of your nature. You assert yourself in a persistent, determined and hard-working manner. Energy is channelled into worthwhile tasks that will produce practical and useful results. Primarily, these qualities are used to ensure financial security and a good life generally. On occasion you can be inflexible, stubborn and single-minded. The sex drive is strong and healthy, but it can turn jealous and possessive. Good lovemaking requires dominance and tasteful surrounding."
The key moments for this period are the station points... The first station, when turning retrograde, will feature a tight Venus-Mars opposition... which will bring up many relationship issues. The second station, with Mars sextile Uranus, square Saturn and opposition Jupiter... will represent a busy hardworking period.

RADU....with Mars in Taurus for an extended length of time, what would it MEAN transiting the seventh house for that long? Are all those people in for extended battle or what?
I don't understand exactly what you refer to when you say "7th house", but if in someone's natal chart Taurus is in the 7th house - obviously that would increase the likelyhood of very dynamic partnerships and relationships, even long-term conflicts during this period. Mars retrograde makes the subconscious agressivity burst out in unexpected or uncontrolled ways, so it could bring in selected cases (7th house) conflicts in previously peaceful relationships but with unexpressed angers.
Or it could refer to a Martian situation happening to the spouse... there're many possibilities.
TheEmeraldEmpire

You understood correctly.
What exactly do you mean by something Martian happening to the spouse?
Mars having a walk for so long in the 7th house representing the spouse, it should have a noticeable effect on his/her life. Examples Martian situations: lots of energy, sports, accidents, conflicts, lawsuits, interest in mechanics or other technological field of activity...
Most likely the partners' chart would add more info.

Well...I noticed he's very active in many things all of a sudden, perhaps that explains it. I expect he'll be quite busy for the next six months. I don't see conflict though; that's never an issue. Thanks for the reply!!!

oh lovely I have mars natally in Taurus at 24 degrees, so this will be hitting my stellium in my first house of part of fortune ceres, juno, mercury, mars, north node and sun, most of which is sextile saturn in pisces in 12th and opposite neptune in 7th and trine uranus & pluto in the 6th
I've made some important decisions about my life and also what I don't ant anymore, my energy is much better, I've spent a lot of time on my own (lots of first house stuff) sorting out what I actually want, sorting out my boundaries, which in the past, where diffuse to say the least, all that neptune in the 7th, I've just had saturn square my desc /Asc as my rising sign is aries at 29 degrees, funny that's about time me and my partner broke up
It's been painful, but I'm looking forward to some good energy to help me,
I've also started doing ashtanga yoga and going down the gym again, hehhe good use of that martian energy

For me, Mars is journeying through my 5th house and is currently conjuncting its natal placement. Natally, Mars is part of a t-square that includes its opposition to my Jupiter-NN-Neptune stellium—Neptune being the most direct aspect at 2° Scorpio—and my Sun-Pallas-Uranus Stellium in the 8th, the most direct aspect at this time being my 3° Leo Sun. Throw in the transiting Saturn square and I can tell you that right now I am feeling a bit of confusion of competing energies.
ARGH!

hello everyone! this is new for me, i have just found you and i have a burning desire to talk about astrology, I too have a Sag rising, and hope this is a learning experence. my chart pulls clock wise so it is more of a Cap. reading and house locations. I look forward to reading your wise thought on this subject.

Libra Lady,
Welcome! Sag rising can be quite interesting. Do you have any Sag planets in your first house? I have a conjunction of the Moon and Saturn in Sag in the 1st.

Hi Elianah, so glad you answered me. No i don't have planets in the first house, however Transiting Pluto is going through the first house and should be making us stronger and wiser, and it should effect you even more with your planets in the first house, do you do predictions for your self to see how it will effect you? My Saturn is now in the 8th house of other peoples money, and so far true, i have been dealing with that, interesting enough, when Saturn was in my seventh house, I married, so far so good, the money scars me, (insecure person) lol. moon sq venus, uranus sq venus, moon opp. uranus. ouch! later Elianah

Hi Libra Lady,
I am assuming that your Sun must be in Libra in either your 10th or 11th house, depending on the degree and house system used.
Yes, transiting Pluto Rx is making one last, late rally to my Moon-Saturn conjunction. It won't directly conjunct my natal Saturn, which is the planet closest to Pluto at 19° Sag.
What I am working more with in my chart is transiting Saturn going through the Leo portion of my eighth house. It is moving towards my natal Sun-Pallas-Uranus stellium (in fact it is a degree away from my
Sun.) During this, it will trine my Sag ASC. Eventually it will trine my Moon-Saturn conjunction.
I am looking at this as a "castration" of old Saturnian patterns to free myself to be truly who I am supposed to be. I do not believe in predictive astrology. I do work a lot with the archetypes. I do know it will be an exciting 2.5 years and a great many changes will take place during that time.
The eighth house is more than other people's money, especially with Leo in it. Leo teaches one how to self-actualize and self-empower oneself so one can help others to self-actualize and self-empower themselves. It is also learning how empowering oneself does not have to disempower another.
As far as money scaring you, rely on transiting Mars in Taurus in the fifth to teach you how work with other people's money in a way that will bring your values to the forefront in a creative, supportive manner. Understanding how you use your own resources (2nd house, which in our charts has Capricorn in it) can help you understand the role you play in other people's resources. Money is the major resource one thinks about, however, there are more resources people have than just financial. Creativity, knowledge, skills, experience, etc., are all resources that come to bear on financial resource. Learn to manage your own resources for your highest and greatest good and you will be able to work with other's resources for their highest and greatest good.
My 2¢ worth: keep what fits and jettison the rest.
:D :D :D

Ahhhh Elianah you are a wise and spiritual woman, a Sag rising will do it every time, and knowledgable about the houses, I learned some thing very good tonight, and that is your are right about looking at the eigth house as a fearful thing. and your explaination was wonderful. helping each other to self actualize and to empower each other. of course sharing resources is a good thing and why we come in contact with each other. thank your for that. I looked up your moom conj. Saturn. strong sense of responsibility and perserverance. some what emotional. and a little shy. and sensitive. would you say being in the first house (aries) gives you a little stength with sag on the cusp? and a Leo sun is nothing to mess with, lol, sinse Pluto is a long transit how do you think it has it been effecting you? and yes my sun is in my 10th house conj. my MC. I am such a novice that I hope I don't sound to (what ever) and the Archetypers is such an interesting thing to learn. I have only touched on it. but would love to learn more. so if you have a good book or some thing to recomend , it would be welcome. Libra Lady have a good night

I think that, for me, I relate to the fact that my Sag ASC is in a Fire house than specifically the natural house of Aries.
Pssst...don't let any Aries see this:
Fire signs rule the known universe.
Okay, they will like that. Here is what they won't like:
The Leos and Sagittarians have voted to lock all Aries in their playpens until such time when they can be properly trained in the fine art of ruling. And since we know that time will never come, well, it is better than having them make themselves into Darwin Award® candidates.
      :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Seriously
I think that when you have a doubling of the same energy, things will play out differently than if you have, for example, a water sign in a fire house. The next would be compatible energies like an Air sign in a fire house. Much work has to be done when competing energies, such as a water sign in a fire house. Although the signs march through all the houses, the houses' quadruplicities, triplicities and dualities stay the same.
For example: I have a Leo friend who has a Scorpio rising. Scorpio is fixed, water, feminine sign in a cardinal, fire, masculine house. A lesson she may have chosen to learn in this lifetime is how to balance unbridled, passionate, unfocused activity with focused, directed, flowing, connected activity. (Right now I'm not dealing with the sign, only the modes, elements and dualities, although deep inside Scorpio, they can do all of that.)
Now what drives my Leo Sun-Scorpio rising friend up the wall is that I have all this fire energy in my chart and I don't act like a Leo. I am too quiet for a Leo. So her mantra for me is "be a Leo...be a Leo."
Yet, as you rightly pointed out about my Moon-Saturn conjunction in the first, I am not going to be a typical Leo. And with everything transiting Saturn will be aspecting in Leo for me (like my t-square, my ASC, my Moon-Saturn conjunction and my Leo stellium) in the next 2.5 years, I still will not be the Leo she wants me to be.
This is why learning more than Sun Sign astrology is so important. It helps one understand that each planetary energy when combined with others makes a whole person. Everything has an impact as the birthchart spirals up through time via transits and progressions. Very few people will be textbook examples of their Sun sign, nor do you want them to be.
I think what we, as astrologers, should be trying for is to help each person actualize their charts to empower them to become the highest form of that energy possible. I know that there are many who would disagree with this idea and that is fine. Yet full energy actualization is so critical right now for us, individually and collectively.
Sorry if this has gotten long and very pontifical. Chalk it up to my Sag rising and having Mercury-Ceres-Pluto conjunct in the 9th.  :D

once again thank you for all the information, it is so interesting, a little hard to retain it all but i will keep reading. have you been doing astrology for a long time? and have you published?? you probably could. And hopefully no one is looking but I agree Aries should be in there playpens, lol , my first husband was one and so is my son. :o guess I can say it.
by the way how did it go with the new job you are trying to get? with sag rising is Jupitor in your 9th or 10th house? you should be able to draw this to you if you want. I personally think you could make lots of money doing charts? or perhaps counseling through astrology???????
good night, Libra Lady and yes sag rising, chatter chatter chatter :)

Hi Libra Lady,
I posted the answer about the interview in my maiden post thread "New on List." Since I don't want to sound over-whiney about it, I am not posting it here.
Jupiter is in the 10th or 11th, depending on house system one chooses to use. I tend to use the Koch house system, which puts my natal Jupiter in the 11th house. However, transiting Jupiter is still moving through my 10th house, and is around 9° out from conjucting itself.
There is a lot of transiting Saturn work I need to focus on as preparation for Jupiter contacting its natal placement starting August 29th. Currently transiting Saturn is directly resting on my natal Sun, which it started doing on Thursday August 11th and finish doing on Tuesday August 16.
Saturn popping a squat on my Sun is teaching me to mature my views about myself so I can self-actualize my growth in a way that empowers me to be fully myself without fear. Since this is taking place in my 8th house, I am being challenged to see beyond my past black-and-white thinking about myself and create a new structure that will best serve me in doing the work my soul has chosen to do this life that is for the highest and greatest good for all. Transiting Saturn is going to provide me the clarity on what that work is and how to structure it so I can meet my needs as well as the public's without losing my boundaries or creating barriers instead of boundaries.
One of the things I think some humans, including me, tend to do is to forget that boundaries are there to protect yet also there to allow new things to permiate in at a rate that is healthy for the person. The boundaries that turn into barriers that nothing can get through are a misapplication of Saturn's energies. Physical form requires boundaries not barriers, this is one of Saturn's deep teachings. Boundaries that have become fossilized into barriers need to be broken down so new energies can come in. This is why, in my opinion, Saturn is the traditional ruler of Aquarius: it helps to identify what boundaries have become unhealthy barriers and destroys them so healthy boundaries can be set. It is the dance of creation that Saturn completes each time it makes a return to its natal position. All other aspects transiting Saturn makes in a chart towards its return are total "room rennovations" that move towards making the structure of our physical-mental-emotional-spiritual beings resonate even finer towards our soul's purpose this lifetime. Without the proper structure and boundaries that Saturn provides, one has much more difficulty going through the transformations that Pluto demands, the revolutions Uranus creates, and the conschiousness raising Neptune provides.
We need Saturn...even when it feels to us that it is slowing down the things we think we need and want or if we think it will depress us. Sometimes going into the depths of our souls to rebuild from the foundation up is what we need. That way the phoenix can be born out of the ashes as a stronger animal.
And there goes that Sag rising and Mercury-Pluto conjunction in the 9th again. :D :D :D

Somebody mentioned having Sagittarius rising in the first house?
What does that exactly mean?
I'm taurus sun and sagittarius rising in my natal chart. Also, sag. is in uranus in the 1st house.
I understand what that means for me in my natal chart, but anybody got any thoughts on how that is effected by where the planets are now?

Hi Foshow,
(singing, with feeling)
Where do I begin to tell the story of how great a house can be?
The sweet Sag story that is older than the sea...
(and a tomato is thrown from the sky   )
Seriously, welcome to the Sag Rising club. What this means is that you were born with Sagittarius on the cusp of your first house. The first thing you need to know is that Fire signs rule the universe. :!:
Okay, really now, I will be serious.
A Sagittarius rising indicates that a person has a drive and thirst for higher learning of all kinds which will be applied to the vision of the self. A person will seek out different viewpoints to design the best belief system for oneself.
All the learning is done with a focus towards the self because the first house is about initiating oneself into one's own world. Think of a baby and how it takes some time for it to distinguish that everything isn't a part of its greater self. Any sign on the Ascendant will be working with that underlying energy.
Another underlying energy in the first house will be the amount of the next sign that appears in it. So one may have Sag rising but the house may be all Sag, mostly Sag with a little Capricorn, half-and-half, or just a little Sag with mostly Capricorn. Depending upon how much Cap is in the mix will determine how the Sagittarian melody line is played out in life.
For instance, my ASC is 8° Sag 41' and my second house begins at 11° Cap 59'. This means my first house is 2/3rds Sag and 1/3 Cap. So although I am always seeking more and more higher knowledge and wisdom and applying it to my belief system where appropriate, that Cap third wants it to be something that is solid, can be built upon and be presented publicly in such a way that can benefit all. If my first house was pure Sag, I would be gathering all of this for my own use.
Now this is purely a discussion of the house and the signs. Planets within the first house and the aspects they make will also temper how the sign(s) and house blends.
If you would like to discuss this more, feel free to e-mail me. I don't want to monopolize this thread if it isn't information people want.

Evening C1 and Foshow!
Glad to hear from you again.
I'm afraid I have pissed off some
With Sagittarian bluntness
and honesty
That does not fit
Perceptions of some
I feel alone
For my Sag First House
Seems to like
Hands and feet
Jammed down the esophagus
What to do
What to do
What you can do Elianah is stop wining. I've learned a lot from your posts and view your tone as sufficiently self-deprecating and non-dogmatic. Truth can be harsh but you manage to deliver your's with humilty which is all one can ask.

All I try to do is honestly represent who I am and my thoughts on astrology through my posts. I ask no one to believe what I say as true for anyone but me. My bluntness can come off in different ways to different people, so I am learning.
When I posted what I did on this thread last night, I was a bit whiney, I admit that. I was feeling alone and expressed that. My mistake, as I have also learned.
Hope you had a wonderous trip to Paris!

It's not easy being a visionary. Elianah...I took a look at your chart and what stands out the most is the fixed t-square with Mars/Neptune/Sun at the apex in 8. What I did was look at the opposing Sabian degree which is 3 Aquarius. "A DESERTER SUDDENLY REALIZES THE FALLACY OF HIS CONDUCT Ability to regrasp past experience and turn it to account. Sharp self-examination. Awakened new fearlessness. Decision.
___*When positive, the degree is genuine psychological courage in a repudiation of all meaningless loyalties, and when negative, complete inability to follow the rules of any game. "
I did the same exercise with my t-square which has Mercury in 11 at 5 Cap as the apex so I looked at 6 Cancer Sabian and it said "INNUMERABLE BIRDS ARE BUSY FEATHERING THEIR NESTS Instinctive preparation for mature and full expression of the self. Subconscious planning or dreaming of idle dreams.
___*When positive, the degree is high intelligence and skill in enlisting the potentials of experience for the service of self, and when negative, unnecessary concern over everyday security." For me, this resonated in a big way as I've spent an enormous amount of waking energy worrying unnecessarily.
I'm not sure if your opposing sabian degree strikes a chord or not but thought it worth looking at in light of the question C1 asked in terms of your "insistent" style.
How was Paris you asked. Paris was cold and snowy but we spent most of our time in museums and resturaunts so I would have to say that it was very enjoyable. I hope to get some pictures available soon.

Can you elaborate on what you mean about my chart being somewhat "insistent"? I want to understand how you are using it so I do not jump to conclusions about what you mean.
Thanks!
Hi Elianah,
I was quoting Sore,
And where is Jupiter? Right in conjunction with the North Node. Your chart seems to be very insisting
Sorehearted's exact word was "insisting"
....and I can clarify
that by "insistent" I was obliquely, tangentially
reaffirming Sore's categorization of
your Jupiter/North Node conjunction,
which, like your Pluto/Merc and Venus/Vesta
and other conjunctions, seems to be
insistent, or insisting,
and interesting,
powerful
patterns
in your
natal chart.
I am glad you asked.... :?
Regarding the feeling of "fate" that
is sometimes connected with the vertex point in
one's chart...maybe the fact that your sun conjuncts
my vertex doesn't mean anything...
maybe it's just a point of intensity
...or it may mean something t r a n s f o r m i n g.....
individually and collectively....
I apologize for not being clearer
and hope this post makes more sense  )

C1,
Ok, I researched my node placements...NN and SN square Jupiter. I like squares, I really do! I shall pet them and hug them and call them Fred. They are my friends and oh, I have so very many 'friends' in my chart! I like their family units too, the T-squares. Have lots of them gathered as well. Once you resolve the issues revolving around a square you are so much stronger in spirit.
Interesting though...all my nodes are in kites along with 1 Grand Trine and not involved in any of the T-squares. Welp, now I reckon I need to hit Amazon.com and buy some books on nodes... :?
I think I understand what you mean about the conj in Elianah's and your chart. You 'get' what she 'says' and feel a connection within yourself about the message.
Hey! I thought this thread was about Mars in Taurus? :)
C1, you seem to know far more about nodes, etc than I do, why not start a thread about nodes and interpretations of them? I know I would benefit from a bit more information about them or where to study about them.
Thank you!

Thank you, C1. My personal transits are actually pretty good for the next few years.
I'm glad you like and are familiar with the Spiller book. I can't say enough about it. I'm going to read it again. The NN is the most sensitive spot in my chart, but I'm amazed when I hear others talk about having the same problem over and over again, and then I read about their NN, and there is where the problem lies. I think the NN is the first place to look in a chart. It can tell you a lot about a person. Some people have it mastered.
