Hi everyone.
It's finally time for me to embarck upon a real career, which is something I have put on the back burner while I explored my many divergent fascinations, and I'm coming to the forum for help.

I am considering going back to school but am still ihaving trouble breaking the bonds of indecision. I am very talented and capable of succeeding almost anywhere, but not being able to decide on which basket to put my eggs into.

My professional interests are many:
community development
social/environmental/ activism
art education and art
graphics design
ecological architecture/sustainable design
counselling psychology
research/writing

I am talented with:
writing, envisioning positive change, visual arts, attaining goals once they are set, graphics, organizing, intellectual theorizing, organizing big groups of people, retaining facts and focusing my mind, public speaking, attracting attention, inspiring others with my enthusiasm, organizing and disseminating ideas, working compassionately with troubled populations, integrating with authority

Seems like Aries/Aquarius/Pluto working well for me internally, but Neptune just fizzles these things out and my focus and drive just dissolve as soon as I even THINK about having a real career. This placement has been good for spiritual pusuits, but as far as material survival goes, Neptune acts rather antagonisticly to what I would hope to attain.

Intellectual stimulation and autonomy are critical to me, and a position where I can innovate seems best. I need to feel like a respected individual with liberties in any place I work. If I do not have this, I stray in a negative direction and my insecurities become enahanced. In the past I have shirked social institutions and formal establishments because I feel they oppress me, but I'm willing to work with the system more now than I ever have been. Over the course of a few years, I have been integrating my dislike for Saturnine things and have been sufficiently been broken into accepting American capitalism as it is. To me this feels like "giving up", but I know I needed to get more flexible in order to be functional in society.

After viewing my chart, do any forum members have any idea about what might be the best avenue for me to pursue? New suggestions for a grounded career based on my chart would be well recieved.

Thanks y'all :D
Sita

I would load my chart, but I don't know how to do it without having an enormously long link to astro.com that takes up the entire span of the page and distorts the normal text distribution. Aqua Mav, are you up for it?

Of course I am...who cares if it is 12:02 AM!

Do you wish to include any other asteroids/cosmic bodies besides Chiron and Lilith?

Sita--

I haven't got any idea what you should be doing -- you're too good at too much! :D I'll try to shed a little insight into what's going on with your spiritual growth, or changes, or whatever.

In the first place, you're very independent -- Pluto opposing Sun/ Mercury, Uranus opposing Venus, Jupiter conjuncting your Moon, plus Aquarius rising, Sag Midheaven, Aries Sun. I would not expect you to want to work for someone. I would not expect you to want to sit still in school.

Currently, your Progressed Ascendant is about to move out of Pisces into Aries -- you're ready to be clear, instead of confused and experimental. Your Midheaven is about to move out of Sag and into Capricorn -- more Saturnian, like you said.

Your Venus traded its opposition to Uranus for an opposition to Neptune! Does this mean you are really clever with money? With that natal Venus in Taurus and these oppositions, I would think so (although the Neptune one will only last a couple years -- so you are willing to throw your trust about money to the Universe for a couple years, but maybe not forever - ?).

With your Sagittarian emphasis, you might like involvement in the world of travel -- as a travel writer or something else involving travel.

But now. Here's another question that bears clarification:

What is a career?

Does it mean, defining yourself in the world -- standing for one thing and only that one thing, so that your heirs can save money on the tombstone and sum you up in a quick, short line?

Maybe a chain of activities is what you are best at, but right now, you are ready to step into a more serious chain.

Ask yourself what you want to accomplish with your efforts. The job title will follow.

(Personally, maybe all I want to be is a blogger with dignity.)

If I go Alaska, I could become a wildlife photojournalist ...
Sita --

Nothing ventured, nothing gained... If I were not-yet-30 and single, I'd love to check out Alaska, even if it was just for six months.

Check out an environmental publication called Orion. I've found it very interesting. -- C

Jupiter retrograded at 18 Scorpio:

228__(18°)
A WINDING ROAD LEADS THROUGH GLORIOUS AUTUMNAL WOODS The light which transfigures the soul after passions have faded away. Revelation of inner wealth. Radiant consummation.
___*When positive, the degree is high success in every area of true self-interest, and when negative, a perverse delight in permitting worth-while things to go to seed.

From a non-astrological outlook...but merely a belly reaction:
You're young, you're eager....PACK THOSE SNOW BOOTIES AND GO!

Hey--

If you really feel adventurous, actually, you could go to Alaska on your own. I had a friend who found a job there working at some kind of resort. In the warmer seasons she commuted down to Washington state someplace and had some social life.

If you've only known this guy a month -- eh? ~ well, hey! Let us do his chart! Let's see if his Jupiter opposes his Saturn! (just kidding).

Anyway, don't make yourself helpless and dependent on anyone so far from home. Have the courage to do it on your own (I'm sure you could). Be safe.
