Which two teams will advance to the quarterfinals at 2008 Olympic football tournament, group A? Argentina, Serbia, Australia, or Ivory Coast? This question was asked at 00:51 local time in Toronto, Canada, July 25/08.

I would try John Addey's system which he used for predict horse race winner. More about that system you can read at:
http://www.geocities.com/astrosport88/kelso.html?200825
The only diffenece is that this is chart upon question not event chart, so maybe this will "not work". But, let's see, untill we try we do not know!
Interesting, planet with more strength in this chart is Ve and Ve is ruler of chart in 5 house, house of sport events, and more interesting, first conjunction of 5 house cusp is also with Ve!!
So, Ve simbolyse name(nickname) of national team by name association or house rulership.
Ve si in connection with Blue/White color, and we know that nickname for Argentina is "Albicelestes" ("White and Sky blue"), so Argentina will be my first choice.
If we look father, we see Ve is intercepted ruler of 6, small anymalls, so Ve could also represented Serbia, because nickname for Serbia national team is "Eagles"!

There are a couple of systems that could be used. Yes.. Addey's. But the late Sophia Mason used a diurnal chart method. That would be the first game would be the "natal game." That will help you predict the winner. However your question is "Which team advances?" Addey's method might be of aid... but I don't predict winners like that. I use a "John Frawley" method of predicting winners. So far the Frawley method does work... now in my admitting that... Mr. Frawley has made a mistake in some of his stuff in the book that he wrote. Interesting book and I would advise anyone who likes sports predictions to buy it. But it needs "tweeking." V/r LionKing

So, LionKing, what is your prediction by Frawley's method that works, who will advance?

Frawley's method works with two teams. The querent has asked about four teams "who will advance." Now here is my weak part in all of this. 1. I don't know who is playing who and where and at what time? If I knew those... that would help me a lot. Now... this is so radical that I don't even think it will work correct... I took a "finger-print" of the stars at the time the question was asked at querent's location. (I don't even feel good about this one but here it goes) 1. Austrailia 2. Serbia 3. Ivory Coast 4. Argentina
Those look the best in that sequence. (Now watch them come in bassackwards...ha!) I don't think Frawley or any other one would approve of what I did. The door is open for criticism... I voided the AS ( a mistake I think) But I watched all the angles (1st, 4rth, 7th and 10th) this is the best that I could come up with.

Thanks LionKing for your explanation and predicion.
But I do not understand upon what astrological sign you go for Australia for example No1? You said you cast the chart for data from Nicksman and what made you (astrological) to think for example that it will Australia? i do not say you are not right, I just want to see your method.

I will work with what Nicksman has supplied and give you a better answer than the one I provided.
Ok... like I said this was a "wacked out" way of doing what I did... but I will explain the sanity of my "insane method."
Step 1. I took the time and location of Toronto to the querent and question asked.
2. I looked at all the angles (1,4.7,and 10) of the chart provided from step 1.
3. I then reasoned that if I can get simular or strong planets in the angles at the location of all the participants in the contest in their home turf... that should be the answer that I'm looking for.
Of course Austrailia and all the others followed in the matter. Now it might be a little different from what the "rules" are done as... but when you are looking for an answer sometimes the "crazy-way" works. It's just my way of thinking outside the box.
Now that I have some foundation of what to work with... let me see if I can provide a better answer. So keep checking in this room and I should give you one in time. V/r LionKing:sunny:

I am open to all new methods because I did not find method that I am 100% satusfied yet.
I am still not get it, what you do when you said: " I then reasoned that if I can get simular or strong planets in the angles at the location of all the participants in the contest in their home turf... " what do you look... put mundane or foundation chart for example of Australia as tranzit to that one of Nicksman? Can you insert one of that your chart as example with explanation? Thanks.

Ok now this is what I had come to conclude this matter. I had to use the "John Addey System." Reason being is that when I investigated the odds favorite to win on the given day… the experts .just did the day-of odds and nothing following the days afterwards. John Frawley’s method suggests that you know the odds or favorite to win.
This is John Addey’s system;
Set time and place for the event.
Campanus houses.
Keep planets still.
Move the 5th cusp forward (anticlockwise) to first aspect.
Now it says to use name association, house rulership, other accidental points. The above information is provided on page 141 in John Frawley’s Sports Astrology, book.
Then I used all the natal information of the countries participating in the game.
Australia………Capricorn
Serbia…………Gemini
Cote d’Ivoire….Leo
Argentina……..Leo
Can you see the dilemma I had with two Leo teams? And Cote d’Ivoire will be playing on their countries birthday. Naturally you would think that would be an easy pick but… on the first chart the cusp of the 5th house aspect to Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn.
Can I say "Australia?"
