Hi All, I drew this chart for a friend and ac is bsg & then the moon, mars & saturn are close to the ac. Would this chart be judged as radical? What could these mean...probably a no..?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers!:D

Hi tootsie,

A beseiged Moon simply signifies something or someone that is hemmed in; in other words, between a rock and a hard place. The moon is unable to act in these circumstances (especially in Virgo)...or if they are able to act, it will be under very difficult conditions.

So, yes, in a nutshell, the answer is 'no', but it really depends on context. The Moon is the chart's power to act.

Hi AG, Thanks! Also, when there are other planets close to the ac & they were mars & saturn...I would say that was quite bad. Wanting to do something but restrained by Saturn? ..or maybe a need to act but can't? Also...if these planets were within 5 degrees of the 12th would we also place them in the 12th h?
Cheers!

What does it mean that a chart is judged Radical???

Hi, It means if it is fit to be delineated. I wasn't sure if I could read the chart because the moon was caught between mars & saturn near the ac.
Cheers!:D

You can usually judge a chart with a besieged moon; that's a part of the delineation, all other things in the chart being equal.

Saturn or Mars near the ascendant may or may not be a bad thing; it depends on the condition and dignity of the planets and whether or not they have anything to do with the question at hand. Saturn generally isn't a good planet to have anywhere near a relevant angle as it indicates hindrances or blockages; this is mitigated when Saturn is in its exaltation in Libra or in domicile...but it's still Saturn so it means some sort of caution. Having Mars near the ascendant can also mean different things; if it's not a significator it can indicate a certain amount of rashness, anger, or impulsiveness that may not stand the querent in good stead.

Any planet within 5 degrees of the cusp of the next house can fall into the 'five degree rule' and be put in the next house along.

Pip pip,

Alright, that makes sense. I don't know why I thought I couldn't read the chart with the moon besg. Also, does one consider applying aspects to the nodes? Are they considerred significant?
Thanks!

Not significant, no, but they can add another layer to the reading. IMO, it's best to get as much information as possible out of the planets, first; the houses, second; the angles, third; and all the other frou-frou stuff after that.:D
