View Full Version : Will I be moving away from California this year?

Hi everyone,

A day after my recent birthday in May, I got a call from my apartment manager saying that I will have to move out by December of this year. I'm accustomed to moving around a lot, but have never been asked to leave. I put some special significance on that, getting the feeling that I'm being "pushed" by forces greater than myself for a change.

My question now is, "Will I be away moving from California this year?"

And now I share with you my limited Horary knowledge. Please correct me if I'm off base here. :)

I am Mars, and Mars is in the 10th house (career) and is about to become conjunct with Saturn, who I believe rules the issue at hand. (Aquarius on the 4th house cusp, 4th house being my "home.")

Quesited and significator are soon to be conjunct, which makes me think that the truth will be revealed shortly? (Do degrees of separation tell us space and time?)

Also, Moon is separating from both Venus (significator of 12th and 6th house) and Sun (10th house significator) and is currently transiting it's own house of expansion (9th house) while opposing the ruler of the 2nd and 5th houses.

I *think* this is telling me "yes," as Moon will soon be conjunct both Mars and Saturn in the 10th house. But since I'm completely new to Horary, I'm not certain whatsoever!

Any help, tips, pointers, or insights will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi LC,

Good work!:) We always appreciate concerted attempts...

I don't think you'll be moving from California, however; you will likely just move locally.

Saturn rules 'the home you're in now', and Venus (7th cusp) rules 'the place you would move to'...but Mars, your significator, applies to conjunct Saturn...Saturn not only rules the 4th of 'home' but the 3rd of 'neighbourhood'. This doesn't mean you'll move down the street, necessarily, but it does seem that a *short* move is likely. I don't know what your work situation is, but it seems that the move will be connected to work, since you are in the 10th...maybe you move closer to your job. Or you don't move far away because you don't want to give your job. Something like that.

Added to this, Mars makes no aspect to Venus...indeed, they view one another with dislike, so 'out of Califas' may not be the desired option after all.

Finally, the Moon is VOC...which makes bringing the matter about very difficult. This moon will actually be VOC for a long time, and won't aspect anything until late in Leo. So again, we have a negative for moving out of California.

Keep in mind, however, that you can change your life any time you want to. So if you want to leave California, leave California. Don't let a horary chart stop you.;)

Archergirl,

Thank you so much for you help! And you know, after I read what I posted, something was telling me that Mars conjuncting Saturn in 10th meant "move for work." But, since Saturn seems to be hanging in my 10th house for a long time, I imagine I wouldn't be moving far. Why didn't I just say that to begin with. Probably too fearful of getting it wrong! :D

Strangely enough, my current job is about 3 miles from my home. Things are steady there for now, and I don't imagine they'll be relocating, so if I were to move any closer, I'm sure I'd never need to ride the bus again! :)

Again, thank you so much for the analysis. Just for future reference, in questions such as these, the descendant (in this case, Taurus with ruler Venus) would indicate the desire of the the querent?

And when speaking of space and time, how do degrees work? I've seen in some places that Horary readers will call an 8 degree separation "8 months until ____" Is that always the case?

Best,

LC

Not in all cases, no. The 7th is used primarily in questions of relationship or partnership (not just romantic, although it includes these), or in questions of 'whether it's better to stay where I am or move somewhere else'.

And when speaking of space and time, how do degrees work? I've seen in some places that Horary readers will call an 8 degree separation "8 months until ____" Is that always the case?

Well, timing is a tricky thing.:p It doesn't always work, IMO. There is sort of a matrix you can use, but a lot of timing is context-dependent. The matrix goes something like this:

Mutable (common) signs: medium term
Cardinal signs: short term
Fixed signs: long term

Angular houses: long term
Succedent houses: medium term
Cadent houses: short term

So you combine the two things where the applying planet is (so, medium-short or long-short or whatever) and then take the average, which will of course usually come out to 'medium term'.:D But the time-frame is one that you assign, depending on how vital the timing is...so 'short term' can be hours, or days, or even weeks, depending on the scope of your question. There are a lot of factors to take into account. Sometimes, if you are absolutely determined to make something happen, angular houses can be *fast*, because they are the most dynamic of the angles in a chart. If you are not in a hurry, angles will slow things down.

People get very blase' about saying 'oh, in two weeks this will happen' because there are two degrees between significators, but I find that, because time is actually elastic and not fixed, using the term 'about X days/weeks/months/years' is closer. Sometimes you can get really accurate, but not always. A rough estimate in timing is usually good enough.

Thanks for the tips, archergirl! Looking back on this question, I think I probably really meant "Will I be leaving Los Angeles," but it's all good. I'm going to keep digging into Horary in the meanwhile. :)

Most people, when asking a question, actually mean something else. It's just human nature.;)
