I've been looking all over for some info on this, but can't find anything. Does anyone have an interpretation? See my signature for a link to my chart, the orb is like 1/4 of a degree.

Hi PtM!, Yes it is difficult to find anything about aspects to Asteroids, Fixed stars etc. There is generally very little written about them as yet and it is still anybody's guess whether it really works out strongly in a chart or not.

There is a thread in this Forum about Ceres and the other 3 asteroids, quite an extensive one with loads of different views on Ceres. My personal view is, that where Ceres is found, there we tend to "mother" ourselves. The Moon and Ceres are often seen as similar, but the Moon is more on how giving comfort and nurture others, contrary to Ceres (I think) where we tend to do something that nurtures ourselves, that give us comfort.

So if Ceres is conjuncting your MC, I would think that it is in your career that you can find "self-nurturing" and comfort, rather than being taken care of by others. Other than this I could not tell you.

I would go through the Ceres thread if I were you, then read all the different interpretations and experiences of other members and see what would fit best to your own.
It is still a bit of a guessing game I'm afraid, but we have to start somewhere and this seems to be the best way to get some information.

Cheers, Starlink

She may also describe your mother, don't forget that. I have Ceres in Gemini too, ***** when people don't talk to you for a few days, doesn't it? It rips my heart out. :( But then, she's in my Third house, not my Tenth.

Hello Kai!! Nice to see a sign of life from you again:)
Yes, you are right. It could very well describe the mother.

Talking about one of "the four" ,I must go over that Ceres thread again myself really, all info is somewhere in my toes by now, must freshen my knowledge up a bit.
Hope you are fine!
Cheers, Star.

I'm doing well, yes. Just been doing some other projects and haven't had time for the forums lately (I needed some Vesta-time, to be completely honest), but I do have to admit I've missed some of my forum-friends, so it's always nice to come back.

I'll be back later today and you and I (and whoever else, of course) can come in and throw our ideas around about this particular Ceres placement.

Talk to you soon. Work calls. :)

Kai, sorry if I hurt your feelings, but frankly you and those other guys hurt mine. http://s3.freepowerboards.com/digitalnaruto/images/logos/digitalnaruto.smilie.hug.gif

Starlink, I did read about how Ceres can represent nurturing, but I wonder what such an exact aspect means. I think you might be close, I can't settle for just any old job, otherwise it always end up with me leaving on bad terms.

I think Ceres can be like the Moon or Saturn, she's happy and generous when she has all her provisions, but becomes very sad without them or if she feels like she's missing something.

If you find the link to that thread, please share it! :)

Strangely, I was thinking of this Sabian symbol verse:

Fecund by her own Spirit, the woman is "great with child"

To be honest, the only careers I could really associate with Ceres would be culinary or fashion. I suppose child-care could be a possibility, but remember the Tenth house also rules our public image, so I wonder how Cererean you appear to others...that could be an interesting thing to consider.

Hi PtM,here is the thread I was talking about. Hope it opens up. There is another one about Ceres, started by Joannski, called "Ceres, the great mother" I believe which came before this one, started by Kaiousei-n-S.
Have a look.

Yes Kai, I will come back. Had a small emergency thing going on with my granddaughter so I lost a couple of hours in the hospital. Nothing too serious, anti-biotics and she will be her good naughty young self again!

Must do some needed errands and a few more things, so hope to come back later. I am melting here, it is 32° Celcius, not really weather to get active by.

Cheers, Starlink

Well, if you can't find it by aspect, find it by house.

Bob Marks has the following to say:
Ceres in the Tenth House: Well, this placement can make you popular (even if you don't want to be). As soon as you set foot in public, people will start coming to you for nurturing. Not in private, thankfully. At least you will be safe in private. Even the boss could come to you for this (or you might have a tendency to nurture the boss). Conversely, you could tend to attract bosses who like to nurture you (hopefully with constant raises). You could also be attracted to careers ruled by Ceres, namely anything connected with food or clothing.

I say this aspect yearns for a caring profession. You want to feel safe and nurtured in public and at work, and you hope others get the same.

Hello Hey, yes, I find this quite plausible. Never heard of Bob Marks by the way. Did he write a book about the asteroids?
My Ceres is found in the 5th house, so how do I translate that then? I could be attracted to romance and 5th house issues ruled by Ceres. This is true actually. I am attracted to things connected to clothing. I like to change my own clothes, change buttons, add something to it, change the looks of it and make them into something different. It gives me a satisfied feeling doing these things, expressing my creativity this way. I feel that Ceres has to do with self satisfaction in a way which is similar to self nurturing. Also nurturing my children gives me great satisfaction when I see that they benefit from it. Interesting.

Just rectified my chart, it's not Ceres that's on my Midheaven, but thanks for trying.
